Hello,

Once again I am having the issue of Adobe for Ipad resetting defaults everyday upon opening.  The "Getting Started" screen comes up every day and all settings are reset.  Has there been any progress on this issue?  Thank you.

Hi winegar,

We just released Acrobat Reader 17.07.27 (that contains the fix for the most frequently encountered crash at startup) on August 27th.

However, because the "reset" problem occurs sporadically, we are unable to determine if the fix for the crash will resolve the "reset" problem as well.

Would you please try updating to 17.07.27 and let us know if you still experience the "reset" problem?

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hello,

I deleted the app and downloaded it last night. I had the same issue this

morning. I am using an Ipad Pro 10.5 inch running iOS 10.3.3. Maybe this

will help you. Thank you.

Hi,

The "Continuous" page mode has always been the default view option for Acrobat Reader for iPhone and iPad.  This has not changed in recent releases.  Once you change the view option to "Single Page", Acrobat Reader should remember the last view option.

However, it is possible that the saved view option is lost/reset due to a defect in Acrobat Reader.

Would you please try the following steps?

  1. Open a PDF document in Acrobat Reader for iPhone and iPad.
  2. Tap the View option icon in the bottom toolbar.
  3. Select "Single Page".
  4. Tap the "<" (Back) icon in the top toolbar to go back to the file browser.
  5. Open the same PDF document again.

Is the view option "Single Page" or reset to "Continuous"?

Is your PDF document stored locally on your iPad/iPhone or in cloud storage (e.g. Adobe Document Cloud, Dropbox, iCloud Drive, Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, etc.)?

Thank you for the fast reply.

In the past I only needed to change the page turning to single page one

time and all new documents would would also be set to single page.  This is

no longer the case.  I am also getting the "Get Started" page every day

when I first open the app.  I suspect all of the defaults are resetting.  I

will try deleting the app and reinstalling.

Hi winegar,

Thank you for getting back to us.

Based on your problem description, it sounds like you have encountered the same problem.

Re: Constantly asked to sign in to Document Cloud and reg Dropbox - iOS

By the "Get Started" page, do you mean the "Welcome to Acrobat Reader" screen?  The last screen shows the blue button with "Get Started" label as you mentioned.

Please let us know if uninstalling and reinstalling Acrobat Reader would solve the "reset preferences/defaults" problem for you.

Before uninstalling Acrobat Reader, we'd highly recommend making backup copies of the documents that are locally stored on your iPad/iPhone.
