Help !

    Hi @Brave_fact0f48

Hope you are doing well, and thanks for reaching out and for including the screenshot.

A few things would help confirm what's going on:

    • What phone and Android version are you using, and what version of the Gmail app do you have installed?

    • Also, does the same "Chat" message appear when you try to share a PDF from another app (like Photos or a file manager) to Gmail, or does it only happen with Adobe Scan? That would tell us whether this is something specific to Adobe Scan's share sheet, or a broader issue between Android's share menu and the Gmail app itself, since Gmail has increasingly bundled Chat features into the same app.

While waiting to confirm that, there's a way to attach the scan that goes the other way and may avoid this prompt entirely: instead of using Adobe Scan's Share button, open Gmail directly, start composing a new email, tap the paperclip (attachment) icon, and try attaching the scan directly from there and see if that works.

    Also worth checking:

    • Whether an update is available for both the Adobe Scan app and the Gmail app

    • Restarting your phone, since a stuck share-target cache on Android can sometimes cause this kind of misrouting

Let us know your device, Android version, and whether the attach-from-Gmail method above works; that'll help confirm the cause.

    Regards

    Amal
