I am trying to open a file with password and it keeps telling me incorrect password

Hope you're doing well, and thanks for reaching out.

We are sorry to hear that you're having trouble with a password-protected PDF. 

Adobe doesn’t store or have access to the users passwords set on PDF files. If the password has been forgotten, the best option is to go back to the original file (if you have it) and create a new PDF. If the file was sent to you by someone else, it’s worth checking with them to see if they can share the unprotected version of the file.
