Question

PDF default mode to editor now?

So I don't ever need to edit PDFs, only need to read and print them. That's why I downloaded the PDF Reader app for android, not the editing version. But after the last update it automatically opens in edit mode, which is so frustrating because I'm often in a hurry to print off last minute docs. I cannot find a setting in preferences to stop it from doing this by default. Anyone else know how to turn this off so it just opens the PDF like it used to?

Hi @loyal_Gazelleb512

I hope you are doing well, and thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry for the trouble.

To help us look into this, could you please share:

  • The Acrobat Reader app version installed on your phone.

  • Your phone model and Android version.

  • A screenshot or a small video of what you see when a PDF opens (without personal information), so we can see which edit screen or toolbar appears.

  • Whether it happens when you open a PDF from within the app, from other apps such as email or Files, or both.

Once we have these details, we can share the next steps with you.

Additionally for more information about the application please check the help page https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/mobile/get-started/faqs.html

Regards,
Amal
