PDF files with watermarks are slow to open/load on iPads

We are using Adobe Acrobat Reader on iOS devices managed with Intune.  When opening PDFs with watermarks, the files take an extremely long time to load. PDFs without watermarks open immediately.  File sizes are the same (600kb).

Any iead why these may be slow to open?
