Hi guys, I want to make sewing patterns for large designs. Iv figured out making the designs to scale in illustrator for IPad. Now I need to know how to print the design so it comes out tiled over multiple A4 pages. Is this even possible to do on an iPad?

Thankyou in advance!

Hi there

Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out and great to hear you’re creating sewing patterns with Illustrator on iPad!

At the moment, Illustrator on iPad doesn’t have a built-in “tiling” or “poster print” feature that can automatically split your large design across multiple A4 sheets. That option is only available on desktop apps through the print dialog https://adobe.ly/4myYqTP

What you can do is:

  • Save or export your scaled design as a PDF from Illustrator on iPad.

  • Open that file on a desktop computer using Illustrator or Acrobat, where you can use the “Tile” or “Poster” print option to print across multiple pages.
