The 7-day free trial is available only when you opt-in for the annual subscription and not monthly. 

 

Also, the other reason you were charged could be because of the prior utilization of your trial. 

 

If either of the above is not the case, please share the purchase details and the screenshot of the charge so we can dive deep into the issue and assist you better.
