If you have removed the files from Acrobat using the option "Remove from recent," you should be able to recover the files by opening them using the app.

If you have used the option to delete, I fear the files have been deleted permanently from their source location and cannot be recovered. 

You can check here: https://acrobat.adobe.com/link/documents/ to see if the files are available. If not, there is very little we can do to recover them.
