Read aloud page oscillation

While having Acrobat reading about 20 pages, the display is moving at pages transition oscillating position very quickly for words on the same line so that it makes it very difficult to read along. Is there a setting to prevent this from happening?

Are there here sample PDFs that I could use to capture this in video screen capture ?

Hello @CR101

I’m not saying Adobe isn’t working to improve this. What I am saying is that the Read Aloud feature on mobile currently has fewer adjustable settings than the desktop version. But the specific stabilisation controls available on desktop simply aren’t exposed in the Android mobile app today.

What you can try:

Use digitally‑created PDFs or clean OCR files, Acrobat notes that poor or complex text layers cause inconsistent read‑tracking.

Avoid multi‑column layouts when testing.

Try a simple, one‑column PDF (like a Word export) to confirm whether the issue is document‑specific

Hello @CR101

I hope you are doing well, and thank you for reaching out.

Could you please share more details about the issue? Are you using the services on a desktop machine or a mobile device? If it is a mobile device, please note that the Acrobat Reader mobile Read Aloud feature is much more limited compared to the desktop. As of now, Adobe Acrobat Reader mobile’s Read Aloud feature does not offer settings to lock the page position or prevent the view from shifting as the text is spoken. On mobile, Read Aloud will try to follow the text being read, and depending on the file layout and how text is structured, the screen may jump or update to keep the current spoken text in view, which can look like a fast oscillation or rapid position change. This is expected behaviour in the current mobile app and not a setting that you can turn off.
