Question

Read Aloud stops or loops back to earlier section

I like to listen to audiobooks while riding my bike, but Adobe will most often not read for much further than a few pages at a time before stopping entirely or looping back and rereading a section over and over. I cannot keep the app pulled up at all times on account of the need to have the map readily visible, so I assume this might have something to do with the app being in the background, but keeping it open in split screen is arguably even worse because every time my phone reorients in my pocket and the split screens change places, the app refreshes entirely and stops reading. I would just like the app to continuously read without looping backwards whilst being minimized.

Hi @Joseph Barron,

Hope you are doing well. Thank you for writing in!

Would you mind sharing a few more pieces of information for further investigation:

1. The app version of Acrobat Reader Mobile you use;

2. The Android version of your device;

3. A screen recording of the issue for better understanding;

4. A sample file where you experienced the issue to investigate.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Hello,

I use the standard Adobe Acrobat app for Android 13. I'm not sure a screencap will assist in understanding any better, since the read aloud function simply abruptly stops, and in any case, I would have been biking while this happened. I could try to stage this problem to see what happens, but I doubt I could get a screencap of it. I also don't really know how to provide you a sample file.

Regards, Joe

Hi @Joseph Barron,

Thank you for the response.

As per the described situation, screen recording would not be possible here.

For the sample file, you can attach the file here by using the option to "browse files" just below the reply window.

This allows our team to try and reproduce the issue in house and get it fixed.
