Hi @Victoria29957491cogw,

 

Hope you are doing well. Per the description, you only want to keep a PDF in read mode.

 

If that's correct, you can change the mode's view mode by clicking the page icon on the top toolbar (to the left of the search icon) and choosing read mode. 

Once done, the preferences are kept for that particular PDF till completed.
