Submit via Email button not working on mobile devices

Hello everyone,

I added a "Submit via Email" button onto my form and when it is opened on a computer it works as expected; however, when the form is opened on a mobile device (through the Adobe Acrobat Reader App) it allows the user completing the form to select the "Submit via Email" button but nothing happens. The button is highlighted but no action takes place.

I understand that the user can send the form back by 'Sharing' it but they are then required to manually enter the email address that the form is to be submitted to; with the "Submit via Email" button, I am able to define where forms are to be returned to without any user entry error.

It would be ideal if the button worked on a mobile device the same way it does on a computer.

Is this a common problem that everyone is experiencing? Is there a solution out there for this?

Thanks in advance!

Some web browser's default PDF viewers and some mobile devices have limited submission capabilities.

To be more compatible, you should offer an HTML form for submission.

Convert PDF form to HTML form. Submit HTML to ASP.net, and merge HTML data with blank PDF using iTextSharp. Send and attach to SMTP message.

Hi pdfmaker86993093,

Sorry for the delay in response.

How did you create the Submit button? If you have added script rather than using default Button action this may happen.

Place a button on the form using Acrobat Pro, under button properties>Action, Select Action: "Submit a form" click on Add.

Once you add you get a prompt "Submit Form Selections", in the text box type mailto: youremailid@xxx.xx save the form a try again.

Let us know if that helps.

What mobile device? What application did you use? The details matter...
