Troubles trying to create & edit a letter

Hi, I have a letter template saved as a jpeg in my photos. When I import it to Acrobat, turn into a pdf, and try to edit it, it simply highlights the whole letter as one big box with the delete option. I've done this before and know I'm taking correct steps. At least I think. Does anyone know why this isn't saving in pdf properly or not letting me edit it properly? It shows the file as changing into a pdf so, I believe it is importing it as a pdf correctly. Does this even make sense? Can I include a screen recording or something. I'm on a deadline! Help! I am doing this through my iPhone if that matters. Thanks in advance.

A JPEG has no actual text in it, but you're right that Acrobat does something smart: if you click Edit, and you have a picture only, it scans the page looking for text. There are two possibilities

1. You've turned this off. But if it still works for other JPEG files, then you haven't.

2. The original just isn't good enough quality for it to recognise the text. Poor contrast, backgrounds, bad scans, or weird fonts will do this.

You may need to retype.

But the letter is in perfect condition and clarity. White background. No colors. New Times Roman font 11pt. Spaced out. It's driving me bonkers trying to figure it out!

Hi @Meechie13 

 

As mentioned that you are not able to edit properly, kindly confirm if this is happening with all PDFs or with only this. if it's with this PDF only then it could be a file specific issue and unfortunately nothing can be done. But if this issue is with many PDFs then please share the below details:

  1. iOS version?
  2. Application version?

It is only happening with that one.

However, it allows me to save other photos to pdfs fine and lets me edit them. What could cause that in a simple jpeg with wording on it?
