Trying my patience is about it

I was sent several .pdf files to review, update, and resubmit. Fine.  My default reader is just that, a reader.  Fine.  I got the Adobe reader app, which is basically the same, but with a free trial with super neat features like edit,and y'know the ability to add what i need to.  Fine.  SO WHY DOESN'T ANY OF THAT WORK?  It keeps telling me to sign up for the trial subscription, and i do. Then it tells me i am already signed up AND IT DOESN'T WORK. I'm starting to think you're trying to wait this out 7 days so I'll have to pay.  Not happening.  Fix this please.
