First check your default PDF viewer. Go to Settings > Apps > Default Apps, then look for the .pdf file type and ensure it is set to open with a proper PDF viewer like Adobe Acrobat Reader or Google PDF Viewer instead of a printing service.

Another solution is to manually download the PDF instead of opening it directly from WhatsApp Plus. Tap and hold the file, then choose Download or Save to Files (on iPhone) and open it separately using a PDF viewer. Additionally, check if you have any third-party printing apps installed, as they might be interfering with how PDFs are opened. If necessary, disable or uninstall these apps to see if that resolves the issue.

Keeping both WhatsApp and your PDF viewer updated is also important. Visit the Google Play Store (for Android) or App Store (for iPhone) to check for any available updates. Sometimes, a simple restart of your device can also help fix app conflicts

Hi @sebt_8333,

Hope you are doing well. Thanks for writing in!

The app you mentioned works similarly to WhatsApp Plus. As Amal mentioned, this should be related to the phone's default app being set to the Printer, which is the reason the issue occurs.

This can be checked by going to the Phone's settings-> Apps-> Adobe Acrobat-> Set as default.

Hi @Daniel39023070vli9

Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out.

Could you share the mobile device's OS version and the Acrobat Reader mobile app you are using? Please check for any pending/missing updates from the Play Store (Android) or App Store (iOS), try updating it, reboot the device once, and see if that helps.

Is this an issue with a specific PDF file or with all the files you try to download from WhatsApp?  Please share a small video recording of the workflow/steps you are doing for more clarity

Also, it might be due to a misinterpretation by your device or an app's setting that mistakenly links PDF downloads with printing functionalities. Assuming you are on Android, here are a few steps you can follow to try and resolve this issue:

1. Check Default Apps:
Ensure that a PDF reader app (Acrobat Reader Mobile) is set as the default app for opening PDF files.
- Go to your device settings > Apps > Default apps and check the settings.

2. Clear Cache and Data for WhatsApp:
- Go to your device settings > Apps > WhatsApp > Storage > Clear cache and Clear data.
Note: Be aware that clearing data might log you out of WhatsApp, so ensure you have a backup.

3. Check for App Updates:
Make sure both WhatsApp and your PDF reader app are updated to the latest version.

4. Printer Settings:
Check if your device has any default printer settings or apps that might be conflicting.
Go to device settings > Connections > More connection settings > Printing and see if there are any default printers set up that might need to be removed or adjusted.

Hope this information will help

Hi there

Hope you are doing well.

Have you tried setting the Acrobat Reader mobile app as the default PDF viewer application on your device?

Go to Device Settings > Apps > Adobe Acrobat > Set as default > Clear Default.

The next time you try to open any PDF file, it will give the option to open with Acrobat Reader and to make it a default application for PDFs.

Let us know how it goes.
