Question

web browser like multiple pdfs for reading

Acrobat is fine for pdf writing but NOT practical for reading. Do it like Web browser side-by-side tabs. I am reading and comparing the knowledge on the pdf documents. Read one, close then open the other and close, open another.. annoying, tiring and unnecessary and absurd.

Thank you Amal. I use android acrobat. My tablet supports multitasking. I am usinf Foxit pdf reader nowadays. It supports webbrowser like multitasking without doing anything. I hope acrobat app can do the same ASAP.

    Hi @avni_erbey

Hope you are doing well and thanks for reachng out.

    • Are you using Acrobat Reader mobile (Android or iOS)?
    • Are the files stored locally on your device, or in Document Cloud / Google Drive / OneDrive?
    • Are you trying to compare them side-by-side at the same time, or quickly switch between multiple documents?

If You're Using the Acrobat Mobile App:

Currently, the Acrobat mobile app does not support true side-by-side tabbed viewing like a web browser. However, here are a few practical suggestions that may help:

    1. Use the “Recent” Tab for Faster Switching

    Instead of closing each file:

    • Tap Back
    • Go to the Recent tab
    • Tap the next document

This avoids navigating through folders every time.

     2. Use Split-Screen Mode (Best Workaround)

If your phone or tablet supports multitasking:

    On Android:

    • Open Acrobat with one PDF.
    • Tap the recent apps button.
    • Select Split screen.
    • Open the second PDF (either in another Acrobat instance if supported, or from Files/Drive).

    On iPad (iOS):

    • Open one PDF in Acrobat.
    • Swipe up slightly to open the Dock.
    • Drag Acrobat (or Files app with another PDF) to the side to enable Split View.

This gives you true side-by-side comparison.

    3. Use Multiple Windows (Tablet Only)

    On iPadOS, you can:

    • Long press the Acrobat icon
    • Select Open New Window
    • Open a second PDF in the new window
    • Use Split View

This works much more like browser tabs.

Consider Using Acrobat on Desktop for Comparison, Mobile is optimized more for quick reading, commenting, and light editing, not heavy comparison workflows.

    Hope this will help
