why cant I upgrade from free to free trial

Twice today I signed up for the free trial. Twice I verified the payment and the identity through my bank, but I have not recieved my trial, I am still just a free user and I can only use the functionalities of the free version. What kind of free trial is this and to what kind of non functioning paid version is this leading? What is really needed to get the free trial, because signing up for the free trial is apparently not the way to get it.
