Why does annotating a PDF creates duplicates marked as (conflict)?

I have a quite big PDF (close to 400 MB) stored in Adobe Cloud Storage. Yesterday evening I opened it on Acrobat on my iPad Pro 12.9 (2018) with iOS 18.0.1 and started reading and annotating it as usual.

Upon completing my session I exited the document, which brought me back to the home of Adobe Document Cloud, where I found three copies of the original document.

The first one looked as if it had only been opened (edit date marked as "yesterday"), the second one—with a "(conflict)" suffix to the file name, marked as being edited at 00.51, and a third one—with a "(conflict)(1)" suffix), marked as being edited last at 01.10 AM. 

Now, why is this happening? Even assuming that my Fiber connection (1000/300) may have encountered slight issues, it should have at worst not synced the updates, waiting for connectivity to be restored. Why were extra copies created, instead?

How do I solve this? 

Luckily I have 100 GB of Adobe storage but that should not be the point.

Could you please confirm if this issue is specific to a particular PDF file, or if it occurs with other PDFs as well? As a troubleshooting step, please try annotating a different PDF to see if the issue persists.

Additionally, could you provide the version of the Adobe Acrobat Reader mobile app you're using? To check the version, tap on your profile icon > About Adobe Acrobat. Please also verify that you have the latest app version by checking for any pending updates in the App Store, and consider rebooting your device after updating.

If the issue continues, it would be helpful if you could share a short video recording showing the steps you’re taking and how the issue appears. This will give us a better understanding of the situation and allow us to assist you more effectively.

It happens with several files, but not always. 

Version is 24.10.00.

My guess is that if one exits the app on iPad without pressing the Home button to get back to the document list, the sync will not trigger and a conflict will ensue. Just my guess, though.
