Why is the Adobe Scanner “unable to capture image” at all on my iPad Pro?

How do I solve this problem? I‘m trying to convert photos into pdfs as usual (pressing the little picture icon, selecting photos, pressing done) but now that I’ve updated my iPad Pro, all Adobe Scanner does is state “Unable to capture image”. It is not working for photos of paper documents nor screen shots. Help please!
