Why was I charged immediately instead of a free trial, and how can I get a refund?

Hi,

I need help with a subscription issue.

I downloaded Adobe Acrobat Reader on my Android Phone today and selected the 7-day free trial. However, I was charged for a yearly subscription immediately on the same day.

This was not intentional, as I only wanted to try the free trial.

Since this charge happened today and was unintended, I kindly request a refund or guidance on how to proceed.

Details:

- App: Adobe Acrobat Reader

Date: 05/05/2026

- Amount charged: ₹790

Thank you for your support.

    Hi @alwingeorgereji,

Thank you for reaching out, and I'm sorry for the confusion this charge has caused you.

I completely understand your concern about being charged when you expected a free trial.

We checked your Adobe account, and we couldn't locate any subscription purchased through iOS. The subscription you're referring to is Acrobat Reader Plus, which was purchased through the Google Play Store on your Android device. This plan is an annual commitment with an annual upfront charge, meaning the full year's payment is collected at the time of purchase, rather than billed monthly.

Because this purchase was made today through Google Play, the billing and refund process is managed directly by Google, not by Adobe. To request a refund, please follow these steps:

Open the Google Play Store on your Android device.

    • Tap your profile icon > Payments & subscriptions > Budget & history.
    • Find the Adobe Acrobat Reader purchase and tap Refund or Report a problem.
    • Select the reason that best describes your situation and submit the request.

You can also visit Google's refund page directly here: https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/2479637

Let us know if you are referring to something else.

    Regards

    Amal
