    Hi @efficient_Coast1922
Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out. Would you mind sharing the version of the Acrobat App and the iOS you are using? Also, share a small video recording of the steps you are taking and the issue as it occurs for more clarity.

Additionally, please try the steps shared in my previous response and see if that helps.

Let us know how it goes.

    Hi @Awesome_perspectivecc10 ,

Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out, and sorry for the trouble, especially given how long you've been using it without issue.

A few things would help pin this down: what's your exact Acrobat app version (Settings or the About screen within the app), and what iPadOS version are you on? Also, what exactly happens when you try to open a document, does it show a blank screen, an error message, a spinner that never finishes, or does the app crash entirely?

This general pattern, documents stopping working right after an update, has happened before and been resolved by a follow-up app update in the past, so the first thing worth checking is whether there's a newer version available beyond the one you're currently on. A few other things worth trying in the meantime:

    • Force close the app completely (remove it from the app switcher, not just leave it in the background), then reopen it

    • Restart your iPad fully

    • Check for a pending app update in the App Store

If none of that helps, it's worth trying to open just one specific document and telling us exactly what you see. A small video recording of the steps you are taking and the issue as it occurs would be very helpful. since "just doesn't work" could mean several different things, and knowing the exact behavior will help confirm whether this is a known issue or something new.

    Regards
    Amal

I send you my recording of mi iPadOS version, and what happens when I open my app and try to “open” a book. Just won't open, it doest cracks o shuts down, just won't happen anything. I kindly ask you for my help. In emergency case I need to send everything to another reading and studying app, but won't let me either to share de documents. My mistake is that I have everything there.

    Hi @Awesome_perspectivecc10 ,

Thank you for the recording, and I understand the urgency here, especially with everything stored only in this app right now.

Since you mentioned needing to move your documents somewhere else urgently but can't share or export them through the app, there's a way to get your files off the device that doesn't depend on the app working at all: Acrobat Reader supports file transfer directly through your computer, bypassing the app's own share function entirely.

If you have a Mac (macOS Catalina or later):

    1. Connect your iPad to the Mac with a USB cable

    2. Open Finder, select your iPad under Locations in the sidebar

    3. Click the "Files" tab at the top

    4. Find Adobe Acrobat in the list of apps, expand it, and drag your documents out to a folder on your Mac

If you have a Windows PC:

    1. Connect your iPad with a USB cable

    2. Open iTunes, select your device

    3. Click "File Sharing" in the sidebar, select Adobe Acrobat

    4. Drag your documents out to a folder on your computer

This works at the file-system level, so it should get your documents out safely even while the app itself is crashing or won't open books properly.

Please do this backup first, before trying anything below, since the next step clears local app data:

Once your files are safely backed up on your computer, go to Settings > General > iPad Storage, find Acrobat, and tap Offload App. This clears the app and its cached data (which can sometimes be the actual cause of a crash like this) while technically keeping your documents in place, but since we're dealing with a crashing app and cannot fully confirm what's causing it, don't skip the computer backup above first, just to be safe. After offloading, reinstall from the App Store and see if opening a book works normally again.

Let us know how it goes.

    Regards
    Amal
