Write with iPad pen on PDFs?

In comment mode, I can’t write with my pen on iPad on PDFs anymore.

All of a sudden I can only highlight, but not write.

What happened and how can I revert?

PS: from a UX point of view the icon is pretty confusing

Hope you are doing well. Sorry for your experience with Acrobat Reader Mobile.

 

The new update has changed the pen icon to the free-form drawing icon. Would you mind clicking the third icon from the right and checking if it works?
