I am trying to develop some software which works over the adobe acrobat software, essentially something like a plugin. The goal is to let users see some kind of interface on the adobe application to login and somplete some forms and then make api requests. Is there some way to have a html, css and javaScript based app running over the adobe acrobat application.

Hi,I need to write Russian text in a pdf document. I found the tip how to do this on the forum. The author advises to see the example https://github.com/datalogics/adobe-pdf-library-samples/blob/master/CPlusPlus/Sample_Source/Text/UnicodeText/UnicodeText.cpp. I downloaded this example to my computer, but I was not able to build it. The code contains references to some methods (for example, PDETextAddASText) which are not found in the standard Acrobat API. Tell me, please, how to build examples from the site above? Where can I download libraries and header files for assembly?Thanks.

Hi, I am a novice at scripting. I have the following fields: "MOT No Vehicles" – allows input of values between 1 and 25"MOT CH 1" … to "MOT CH 25""MOT CH Type 1" … to "MOT CH Type 25""MOT CH Days 1" … to "MOT CH Days 25""MOT CH Head 1" … to "MOT CH Head 25"Depending on the value of "MOT No Vehicles", these fields should either be visible or hidden.For example, if "MOT No Vehicles" = 10 then fields "MOT CH …1" to  "MOT CH …10" will be visible and "MOT CH …11" to "MOT CH …25" will be hidden. Currently I have assigned variables "z" to field "MOT No Vehicles" and "aa" to "yd" to the other fields,I then have 25 if statements to determine whether to display is visible or hidden.  Using the above example, my code is shown below.  This code works fine but is very cumbersome and there must surely be a more efficient way to do this. Any help will be appreciated.if (z.value === 15){ aa.display = display.visible; ab.display = display.visible; ac.display = d

I am trying to script a dropdown menu to spawn templates or multiple copies of the same templates (i.e., select "1", 1 copy of the template is spawned; select "2", 2 copies are spawned, etc.). The first issue is probably code (below: copied/altered from another community poster). The second issue: the actions are extremely limiting, and not one of the options includes selecting an item in a dropdown menu. So, if I select any of the "Mouse" options (Mouse up, Mouse down, etc.), the script spawns 1 copy just by clicking on the dropdown menu but nothing else. I have a project with a template I hide to spawn pages from. It has several fields, and I don't rename when spawning. Most of the time, if I unhide the template and I mouse over any of the fields (except for the title) on the original template, I get a "Bad parameter." pop up. Why? Can I fix it?

Hello,I have a question I can't find anywhere in google. Is there any way I can copy text from CSV file into specific text fields into PDF using JavaScript? I need this beacuse I want others to have allways updated version of PDF file so everytime I have to change something I change it in that CSV file not in the code. PDF file has Drop down menu which changes text in text fields on selection and is easily done with JavaScript Actions, but as I said I dont want to change that in code, but in some CSV file when needed. Thanks in advance!

I have a project that creates pages from a template. Some of my fields are duplicated and not renamed, so I have multiple widgets of the same fields. I notice that when I delete pages, the widgets numbers adjust instead of remaining as they were. For example, the field 'NBI' is replicated. There are two instances on each page, and the template hosts #0 and #1. So my first page has #2 and #3, second page has #4 and #5, etc.  If I delete page 1, the widgets on page 2 (which becomes page 1) become #2 and #3 instead of remaining #4 and #5. Does this always reliably happen? Furthermore, if I move a page around wih the thumbnails pane, the widgets do not renumber. This isn't expected from the users, but it's obviously possible... I have a check box that hides the bottom photo, caption, and info. The photo and caption are unique fields, so no trouble there. I need to be able to also hide the info fields. If I know for a fact that the number system reliably works

I've followed the instructions on creating a dynamic date stamp. The drama is I either have 2 results. The date that stamps is created is always displayed, or nothing at all. Neither are the desired result. Are there any scerity steps required to allow the javascript to run? Is it something else?That's the javascipt i've used:event.value = (new Date()).toString(); AFDate_FormatEx("dd mmm yyyy");  Any thoughts appreciated. Bruce

I've got an 8,000-page document with bookmarks. I'd like to rename the bookmarks with the Bates number range (or even just the Bates number of the bookmarked page), so I may then split the document into files named with the appropriate Bates number range. Been at this for several hours now, and can't seem to make more headway. I'm using Mac Catalina 10.15.2 and Acrobat Pro DC 2019. I'd sure appreciate someone's insight to get this done and off to the lawyers.

I am creating an inventory document for internal company use. How much can JavaScript automate within a document? As an example: An employee selects a number of storage racks by either entering text or selecting from a drop-down option. Based on the answer to that field, the JavaScript code can create a page with a table of field entries (current table desing is 46 rows by 5 columns; of those, 1 row/column for titles; 45 rows and 4 columns have text entry fields in each cell) - basically pasting an entire page that includes the table and a text entry above the table to title the table. Is there a JavaScript coding capable of doing this? If so, any examples? Thanks!

Hi Guys I'm currently using Adobe Acrobat X Pro. I'm trying to create a form so that when the user inserts a date into a field a JavaScript will identify if this is a weekday or weekend. Depending on which is entered it will then add a specific rate. i.e. Weekday = £65 and Weekend =£130. Can someone please help me or point me in the right direction? Thanks

Hallo,ich habe auf Windows 10 umgestellt, weil mein Photoshop auf Win 7 elendig langsam lief und Adobe das Update auf Win 10 als Lösung vorschlug. Leider.Photoshop CC läuft immer noch elendig langsam und nun ist auch die Thumbnail-Vorschau der pdf-Dateien nicht mehr da.Kann mir jemand sagen, wie ich die pdf-Vorschau in Win 10 wiederherstellen kann?Danke

Hope someone can help me with this. I think I understand how to do the individual action but can't seem to put them all togther to work.I have 2 values ( A and B) that I need to multiply. This is easily done. I then need to validate that the answer does not exceed a max number (example 500). if it is over the max dose, the answer will always be 500. if the value is below 500, the number needs to be rounded to the nearest 50. 

Hi, I have been struggeling with a way to get a form button to create two printouts. One as the form looks orginally and one with a COPY stamp/watermark on it. I have not gotten any script to work.  Is this possible and if it is how do i do it? Hope you guys can point me in the right direction

This has been infuriating me for a few hours, and it seems like the kind of problem fresh eyes can help with. The issue is explaining it all... Hey everyone,  I have a list x = ['Foo_1','Bar_2'] Foo is the name of a field in the same form for which I need the value - I then want to check if that value is equal or lower than 1 and then store that result (as ill need to do the same for multiple items in the list) Using the fact that the fieldname will always be three characters long I've written x.substr(0,3)  which I then use to get the field valueif (this.getField(x[0].substr(0,3)).value <= x[0].substr(-1)){ //store the fact that the Foo field is lower or equal to one (in this example) } So my question is can I use the string resulting from  x[0].substr(0,3) in the name for a variable?  when I try:var 'state_'+x[0].substr(0,3) = 'Yep'I get the error 'missing variable name' Any suggestions how I can solve this? Thank you in advance for any trouble to be taken

I have a contract form that I want a client to fill in thier name in a field and that name to be populated into other fields later in the PDF.  However, the fields later on can not be the same as the original field because those fields will be hidden until a checkbox is checked.  How can I do this?

 We're using PDDocCopyToFile(pDoc,&params) in our custom C++ plug-in and it works fine. But if the user opens non protected document, then in Adobe Acrobat settings sets password to the document and then presses our "save command button", it fails in our call to PDDocCopyToFile API method. Alternatively, we tried params.saveChanges = false and just PDDocSave, but with these either changes were gone or password protection was lost.  Should we specify any extra parameters to use PDDocCopyToFile with password protected files? Or how we should proceed further, if the user sets password for the current opened document, to save it afterwords prorgamatically and do not lose the changes? We couldn't find anything related in API documentation. Any suggestions are higly appricieated. 

The project I'm working on is a photo report. The technician filling it out looks at a photo log and adds 6 or more photos and captions to the PDF before printing it. I have each photo button set up like so:event.target.buttonImportIcon();I know that this method has security restrictions (a red 'S' in its quick bar in the Acrobat API Reference), although I don't completely understand that. When am I not able/unable to call such methods? I ran into this first when trying to spawn a blank page from a button (I ended up discovering and using templates this way). However, I digress. My real question is can I set up a document that can import multiple icons in one shot? The file will be stored on a remote server (as well as the photo files its importing), and there is noticable lag while importing.
