If anyone can help resolve a real headache in writing a javascript that will round correctly, I would be so very much appreciative!  I am very new at writing Javascript, but I am getting better and more creative all of the time.  Right now, I am absolutely stumped.  I'm designing form, and I've run into an issue with writing a javascript with validation.  Here is the situation:1.  I have three columns.  The first column is a number which is input by the person filling out the form.  As an example they might enter $75,480 into column one.Column 2 and column 3 are numbers to be entered by the person filling out the form.2.  Column 2:  Since column 2 is a number input by the person filling out the form, I wrote a validation script as follows:var a = this.getField("Q5").value;if (event.value > a)event.value="";else event.value;Q5 is a hidden field that I wrote that is a value based on $75,480 x 0.01 = $754.80.I wrote the validation so the num

Good evening, I have created a script to spell check a very large list of medications and cancers for our company.I have created a loop to make all the fields lowercase, before spell checking the document.... I have a self-made PDF that has 8 checkboxes that represent 8 other pdf forms. What I want to happen is when I click specific checkboxes and hit submit it combines and open the files I clicked the checkbox for. After combination I will run a Javascript that completes all the forms. How can I have adobe perform this function?

Hello,I am trying to set up a form that will display the word "standard" in a field next to a paired checkbox if checked but otherwise keep the value of what the user types.Right now, I have this in the custom calculation script for the text field called upper1:var upper1= this.getField("upper1");if (this.getField("Check1").value != "Off")upper1.value = "Standard"elseupper1.display = display.visibleIs there a different way that doesn't require overriding the value of upper1? I'd like to not overwrite the user-inputted value if possible and just have it selectively display the user value or not. User value could be blank if they don't want it.Alternatively, I'd like to set it to display the export value of the checkbox when checked and the user-inputted value if unchecked.

I have a form I am making that I have 3 fields that default value is N/AI am trying to make a 4th field to add these 3 fields but the problem is if the field is not displaying a value then it the calculation script does not work. It only works if all 3 fields have a numerical value.I have to have the field to display N/A if there is not a numerical value in it.So my thoughts have been for the 4th field to convert the N/A value to 0 but how do I use the value if it is not N/A. Hello,I have several "survey" forms I created containing grouped radio button selections, I'd like to have a command or radio button that will export the form content to xml.  I know I can accomplish this via the "more form options" in Acrobat Pro XI" but I need to have this happen in Acrobat Reader. In short I want to insert either a "export" radio button or an "export" command button that will execute JavaScript to export the selected radio buttons to an xml output.Thanks for your help.Adriano

I have a simple addition calculation script to toal the RowTotal:var proRatedPerDiem = this.getField("travel_prorated_perdiem1").value;var lodging = this.getField("travel_lodging1").value;var total = proRatedPerDiem + lodging ;event.value = +total;The "proRatedPerDiem" field is also a calculated field and when that changes, about 50% of the time, the RowTotal either does not change, or it comes up with some old value .  I have run the javascript debugger and confirmed the script always runs, it just often doesn't return the correct value.This is my first time working in Adobe.  Is there some weird caching or something? 

Hi All,I don't work with Acrobat very much other than an occasional PDF change. So, I did some digging and discovered that like Photoshop, Acrobat can be automated. And I tried to do this myself, but I have no idea what I am doing and thought if I come to the community, they could help me. My fingers are crossed that someone can assist with this.Okay, so here is the scoop. I have pdfs that are scans of documents. I did a basic test to confirm that Acrobat could do what I need which is convert these PDFs into Excel spreadsheets. It can, but there is a catch. I have to delete all the pages of the pdf except for one, and then convert it. I tried just doing the whole PDF, but it would combine cells and mess up the data. My idea was to create an automation that would:Open the PDF DocumentExtract the first page Save it as a new documentDelete the first pageContinue for all pagesTake extracted page and save as an excel spreadsheetThen, I will take those sheets and either put all the data toge

Anyone know why Acrobat's update (2019.010.20019) broke my JS? Most of the code dates back to 9/X and have been updated for privilege and security changes (10.1.1) but now the global vars all are saved but then a couple of vars aren't retrieved from GlobData and those vars default to default settings. Anyone run into a similar experience? The only change was updating to 20019 from 20069.

I have a top/cover page with some basic demographic fields whose values are going to be repeated as read-only on subsequent pages.One of the fields is a radio button with the choices LEFT or RIGHT.The subsequent pages are all unique, hidden templates that are spawned on demand via      this.getTemplate("Page2").spawn(1,false);      this.getTemplate("Page3").spawn(2,false);      this.getTemplate("Page4").spawn(3,false);The text fields and date fields that are on the top/cover page populate into their read-only counterparts on the tops of the new pages.And, the VALUE of the radio-button successfully assigns to it's read-only counterparts (programmatically confirmed it accepted the choice value), but the radio button is NOT DISPLAYING the tick mark.  This was not the behavior before I turned the pages into templates.  When I was developing the pages the code worked like a champ.  And, even now if i h

Acrobat DC updated from version 2019.010.20069 to 2019.010.20091 That update has disrupted GlobData usage. Some global variables are still being passed between my JavaScripts and some vars are not. What did Adobe change in the most current update? My code has worked in 9, X, XI, DC, 2015, 2017... but not now.

Does anyone use any other utility to create, test and run scripts that they create with Acrobat?

When I attempt to combine PDF files, I get the following message: " Acrobat does not support the conversion of one or more of your files to PDF. Please remove these files or go to settings and choose the PDF Portfolio option." The Portfolio option will not allow me to do what I need to do!

     Hello,I have created a very long and detailed Form Filler PDF using Adobe Acrobat Standard DC. I have put a lot of time into making some of the fields required and creating a custom submit buttons. that emails the form to our executive who has to sign off on the form before the document can be passed along to start processing the information on the form. Once the Submit (email) button receives a mouse up event the submit to server button appears which is the only way I would like for the form to be "saved". This allows us to make sure that no work order slips past the boss without his approval, long story but necessary. So now to the question, is there a way to add a Will Save Action -  this.resetForm(); in the current version of Adobe that I have? If the answer is no is there a way I could sign up for a trial version of the Tool or program that I would need so that I can find out if I get my desired result before having to pay for it?Our office has purcha

The "open cross link documents in same window" check box defaults to on or checked; how can I set the default to be off or unchecked? I write documents that have lots of links to other documents and it is an absolute nuisance to have to uncheck the cross link box every time I open a document or have people asking me why the main document closes when they follow a link.
