I need help with this. I have searched the web looking for this and haven't found a complete script and I don't know how to patch one together from multiple scripts. We are currently using a fillable PDF template form for all our inspections and have figured out how to use it from our tablets. I need to add a button to this form with a java script to lock the entire PDF so it can not be edited. Its okay if it is printed or copied, we just want to provide some level of protection from a customer accidentally altering a inspection report. I would like to make it so the button can be activated and deactivated with a password prompt for both occasions so techs don't have to constantly unlock after accidentally clicking the button. I don't know much about java other than how to copy it to a button in a PDF and select it as a mouse up to exec a java script. Hi,I have a PDF form which acts as an inspection report for a manufacturing process at my work. I have a flat PDF (no Acroform fields). Just a flat PDF. Is it possible, via the API, to get a list of possible input fields? (Text fields, check boxes, etc.) This is what I want, only delivered via an API call (see link->):  Automatic Field Detection in Authoring If the Adobe SDK does not do this, does anyone know of any API that does something like this?

I have an Adobe Acrobat DC form that looks through fields and sees if the user entered an IP address.  If they did it throws an alert and tells the user where to find it.  I'm having two problems:     1. When I run the function it seems to only work every other time.      2. Hi There!I have a general understanding of Acrobat, but have not used the form tools very much.In a nutshell, I am creating an order form where the customer chooses their item from a drop down and in the next field they enter the quantity. I am wanting to have a totaling feature added to the bottom of the form to calculate the total quantity ordered for each item in the drop down list.Is this possible?Thanks in advance!

I am not sure if this is doable or not, thinking about this the wrong way or i am just completely missing something. I normally like to try to figure out where i went wrong but this has gotten me stuck.I am trying to take the standard trim bookmark name function and make is user changeable to select what part of the bookmark is being changed via a popup question. I have a box labeled HST and another for Subtotal.I want to perform a simple math calculation on the HST box, the result displaying in the Subtotal box.I want the user to be able to overwrite the Subtotal Box.  This Subtotal box is included in the TOTAL Box calculation which is not to be overwritten.Thanks!

Hello!Is it possible with a JavaScript code/Action to auto-populate fields in a fillable PDF with data from two different PDF files?More specifically, I am looking for a way to automate the process of filling out a W-2C tax form with data from two sets of W-2 forms. The first PDF file of W-2 forms contain the data for the "Previously Reported" column in the W-2C form and the second PDF file of W-2 forms contain the figures for the "Correct information" column of the same W-2C form. Each PDF file of W-2 forms can contain from 1 W-2 form to 150 W-2 forms.I've been able to automate the separation of the W-2C form with an action I created in Acrobat, but I was wondering if we could automate the process of filling out the W-2C's entirely. All the data I need is consistently provided in two PDF files. For example, the before.pdf and the after.pdf. What we do now is copy and paste all the values into the W-2C form and with 100 plus W-2C's that need to be done, it can take up a lot time.I am l

I am developing a new application and i am using the AcroPDF.dll active X control. On Windows 7 on my development machine the control works wonderfully. However when I deploy to Windows 10 the control is just blank. There are no errors or anything it is just blank. Adobe Reader is installed on both computers. Any assistance is appreciated. Adobe has a functionality to launch a javascript on launch of Adobe, by dropping a .js file in the following folder:C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat Reader DC\Reader\Javascripts\I have a document javascript (e.g. scroll to a specific page), which I would like to apply to every PDF I open.If I add my document specific javascript as a file in the above folder, it doesn't work, because I reference javascript functions which are only available while an active document is opened. I tried creating a loop to wait for an active document to be opened, but this makes Adobe freeze, even if I open Adobe by double clicking on a document (and thus opening an active document)?Any advice on how I could tickle this?

I need to have the "Group name" auto populate based on the selections made from the previous 5 dropdown selections. If it stays on "Select one" I need it to not auto populate. Parent site, Subsite 1, and Type will always have a selection made while it is possible no selection is needed for Subsite 2 or 3. Also each selection ends in "-". If the user selects the wrong dropdown choice and changes it, will the group name field detect the change and auto correct? I am using Adobe Acrobat Pro 2017. My limited knowledge of JavaScript is based on this forum. I can usually find what I need searching from previous comments. Thank you for any help you can provide.

I wanna create a PDF form that has conditional Dropdown list. For example, dropdown list has values: X, Y & Z. If the user chooses “X” he will see a list of checklist different than when he chooses “Y” or “Z”.. so is this possible to do this using adobe pro DC with javascrips ??. thanks..

Hi there.I was creating a plugin for signature validating. The problem is that signature uses third party digest algorithm  "GOST34311". I think Adobe simply does not recognize such algorithm. I tried to catch the exception in this function:void DSEngine::sigValidate( PSSigValidateParams params );but it doesn't even get there, exception is thrown before.So, how can I get algorithm name and handle any custom digest algorithm? Can I Install Acrobat DC on Multiple PC's?  If not, can I pay extra to install on additional PC's?  For instance, I have 2 computers at work and 1 at home that all need to have full Acrobat abilities, how can that be done?

Hello,I'm attempting to create a button in acrobat that will also work within reader dc.I want to be able to click a button and it selects the pen/pencil tool.I seem to be able to get it to work in acrobat 9, but it doesn't follow across to Reader.Is there document javascript I could include to make this work?Is there also any scripting I could use to set the colour of the pencil?

I have a two page pdf form where the user puts a tick in the appropriate box.  At the bottom of the form, the ticks in each column are added up.  This sub-total (sub-total_1) is then multiplied by a specific number (column 1 is by 1, column 2 is by 2, column 3 is by 3 and column 4 is by 4) to give sub-total_2.  Both sub-totals 1 and 2 are then added to give a final total for each column.  All four column totals are then added to give a final figure.  All of this works.Based on the final total, I would like the form to automatically write:Low if the total is between 0 and 20;Moderate if the total is between 21 and 33;High if the total is between 34 and 46;Extreme if the total is 47 or more.Is this possible and, if so, how do I do that?I'm using Adobe Acrobat Pro DC, 2015
