I am currently using Adobe Acrobat Pro 2017 and have created several Fillable Forms which our dealers use for various purposes.  Once the Fillable Forms are received back to our Order Entry or Customer Service departments, I would like them to be able to pull the data from the form(s) into an Excel spreadsheet or Access database.  I have been successful in using the Acrobat object in VBA to pull the data from each of the form fields and insert the data into a spreadsheet or database as needed.  However, most of my users (20+) have only Adobe Reader.  The Acrobat object is not installed or accessible with this version of Adobe.  I am looking for other options to pull form field data and populate a Microsoft Office spreadsheet or database.  I have not found an object such as Acrobat which my users with Adobe Reader would have access to.  Is there one that I am missing?  Should I be using something other than VBA with which I can access the fillable

To clear things up a little bit:Field1.value = Test (this one is copied to Field 2)Now Field1.value is changed to “Tester”. As I have multiple fields which are copied into a list on another page, I have to check, if destination field value equals the initial field value of Field1 (“Test”) and if so, overwrites it with the new value “Tester”. If not the Field1.value should be copied into an empty field.

Hi, I am trialling Adobe for its PDF document comparison feature.I have just compared two documents which are largely identical, same formatting etc.  If I use the comparison tool for 'text only', then everything comes up as deleted and inserted again and so I can't see what has changed.  If I don't tick the 'text only' box, then it's a bit better and recognises some of the same text, but there is a huge amount of highlighting text that is exactly the same as having been reinserted.  This means that the process of looking for changes is actually very lengthy and it doesn't save that much time.  Can someone please tell me if this is as good as it gets or if I am doing something wrong?Thank you in advance.Francis

Is there a way to search and highlight multiple text items in a document?

I'm looking to streamline fill in-able pdf letters my company uses. The multi-line field is for  name and address, with each line separated with a line break (Enter/Return key press). Right now, its setup with the multi-line field for address and a separate single line "Dear..." field that are separately filled in. The single line field also has a script to insert a coma after the user types the addressees name. What I'm looking to do is have a script that will read the first line in the multi-form field (addressees name) and automatically populate that name in the single line "Dear..." field AND preserve the auto population of the coma on the single line field. This would probably a lot easier to explain and even do myself if I had a working knowledge of Javascript, but I digress...

Hi,I used to be able to password protect all files in a particular folder on my Adobe 9 Pro by using batch processing. I've followed instructions on how to do this in DC using the Action Wizard but cannot get it to apply the password at the folder level. Whenever I try and apply the password it prompts me for passwords for each individual file within the folder. Has anyone an idea of where I'm going wrong?Thanks

I am using eCopy PDF Pro Office 6.1  I've created fillable forms in it before and was able to print them with all of their content; however, now they are printing completely blank- and only the content that is typed into the fields print.  Usually I create the form template in Word, save it as a PDF, and then in PDF Pro, I use the "FormTyper" option in "forms"- it automatically creates the form- I make any adjustments (like deleting text boxes where I didn't need one, making a text box bigger, etc.), and then I'm able to either print the blank form (printing only the background information), or I'm able to type in the fields and then print the filled out form.  Like I said before, now nothing prints except anything that's written into a field.  Please, any help would be GREAT!!!

I been trying use Adobe Acrobat SDK to extract text for many days ...it is OK for me to get the whole text of the page , But those text basically is not ordered.Normally content comes like top content , footer content , Main contentWe don't get those text like we see those words orderly.Another reason why I am asking is , we have used another 3rd party tools like PDFboxWith their tools , giving the specific area , it return text successfully . And unfortunately , this tools doesn't read pdf successfully.And , adobe acrobat SDK read all pdf files well .Now this is what I plainly to do  Giving a specific area , and return the text . Hello.  I am attempting to save all PDFs within a folder as text.  To do this i am running an action calling a JavaScript and using this.saveAsWhen the script runs attempting to save as Plain text, some PDFs fail as they cannot be tagged.  I am therefore curious if a JS can be implemented such that it attempts to save as plain text, and if that fails save as accessible text.this.saveAs("**filepath**”+ this.documentFileName + "_accessformat.txt","com.adobe.acrobat.accesstext");this.saveAs("**filepath**”+ this.documentFileName + "_accessformat.txt","com.adobe.acrobat.plain-text");

Hi all,I have a single page PDF with lots of shapes scattered around. There are some textboxes above some of the shapes as well (hence I cannot use Ctrl+A). We have a document with the last page reserved for customer Feedback on the document. This Feedback Page has the controls and forms, such as option buttons and check box. Process for Feedback by the Customer: The customer must give a feedback (optional) after using the document. I've created a 40 page interactive pdf. Originated in InDesign and exported to an interactive PDF.  The PDF has multiple static fields (customer name, job number, date, address) there are also dynamic fields that are for product proposal that utilize forms and calculations.  The stand alone pdf works very well.  I want to see how I can automate this.Here is the question: Currently we have to fill the PDF out manually, flatten the forms, save as and send this out for each inquiry.  Is there a way to have the form online, let the customer fill out and automatically populate the key fields for the static and dynamic content in the master PDF, flatten the PDF (so the form fields are not editable) and email the pdf.I just can't wrap my head around what the best way to do this.  Any help would be a huge help.  Thanks     CO

Hello,I have an InDesign plugin that draws lines over text when the page is being exported to PDF. These lines indicate modifications to the document, track changes. I would like to be able to remove, make them none printing, set the opacity to invisible from Acrobat. We could go back to InDesign and export the pages again with the lines / marks hidden, but there is the possibility that some might have changed in the document. We are not able to put these lines / marks on a separate layer.Is this possible in Acrobat?Is the SDK C++ plugin the best route?Or, is it possible with javascript?Thank you.P.

I have found numerous examples online showing how to display a PDF in your program by using the AxAcroPDFLib assembly.  However, I don't seem to be able to figure out how/where to access this assembly. In Visual Studio, I've tried to "Add Reference" and under "COM" it doesn't show the "Adobe PDF Reader" item that many online examples refer to.I've tried adding a reference to the AcroPDF.DLL in:C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Acrobat\Active X\However, this does not supply a definition for the AxAcroPDFLib mentioned in the various examples.  It supplies a reference to AcroPDFLib which in turn gives me the AcroPDF interface, which isn't recognized as a user control.Installed on my system:  Adobe Acrobat Pro DC, Adobe Acrobat Distiller DC, Adobe Reader XI don't want to do anything too fancy.  Just display a PDF within my forms window.  But I'm completely lost at this point. Can anybody aim me in the right direction?

Why is this error happening when I try and save a pdf that I have edited? I've search through all forums and this appears to be a very common complaint and yet NOBODY has EVER resolved this problem. Using trial version of Adobe Acrobat Pro DC 15.017.20053. Seriously, does Adobe expect people to pay for this software?

I'm not sure if this is possible, but if it is will be worth the question for me to ask...I would like to auto populate a backslash at the beginning of a number and a period at the end of a number.  The problem is I don't know what number the user is going to enter on the text fieldFor example, if the user types 8091000 then \8091000. will appear on another text field.Thank you!
