Hello.I want to be able to find a sequence of ten numbers in a pdf. I was thinking of reading through each character of the pdf and using an if statement with the isNaN function, however, I'm not sure if that's even possible because I don't know how to read each character in a pdf. If there is another method on how to do this, then that would be fine, too.Any help or guidance would be appreciated.Thank you.

Hello. I'm a beginner in javascript, and I have adobe acrobat X pro. I want to be able to search for a specific string within the pdf, and then save the sequence of numbers that come after that string for my file name.For example, the text would look like "EA 224400" . I would search for the string EA, and then save 224400 as a different variable that would later be used for the file name. This sort of text is found multiple times in my pdf on different pages. Therefore, I want to be able to search for EA, save the number sequence after EA, split document at that point, saving the pages from current page (typically 5, though not always) up to page before next instance of "EA", then save an individual pdf for each number sequence using the number sequence for the pdf file name.I found a different discussion that had almost the exact same concept that I wanted (Split large pdf on repeated text pattern, and save new pdf with custom filename ), however, the only difference is that I want t

I was able to spawn in a new page successfully, and on my end, when I click the "Add Page" button I created, it jumps to that page. However, for others, it is not doing that, it simply remains on the initial page. Is there a script I can add to the button that spawns the page, that will make it also go to that newly spawned page?Additionally, I'd like to be able to allow clients to Delete an unneeded page. The form originally is one page. They can then click to Add a Page. My client would like to be able to delete a page in case the Add a Page button is clicked accidentally, or someone changed their mind.I've searched Google to no avail, as many of the links that look like they are the answer I need, is from acrobatusers.com which seems to no longer be active I should mention I am VERY new to all of this. HII am using ADOBE Acrobat Pro DC V 2018.011.20040My aim is to manually fill out the top table i1 to i3 and j1 to j3. Then press the bottom table calculate button and the result appears in the value column beside it as a %.Using WBC button as an example the formula is (j1WBC-j3WBC)/(i3WBC-j3WBC). Applying the formula to the WBC value text field . I have proven the formula works.However i need to put all the data into the top table before doing the calculation. My solution was to press a button, it does the calculation and assigns the value to the text field beside it. I have set up the button properties in the java script I have put rWBC=(j1WBC-j3WBC)/(i3WBC-j3WBC).rWBC is the name for the text beside it.At the moment pressing the button does nothing.Your comments and help will be most appreciated.Regards MH

I am trying to find a javascript that will allow all of the fields in my form to populate in sequential order. I have 10 fields on the PDF and I would like them to be numbered sequentially based off of the first field. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have an excel file with over 60,000 numbers. I am trying to code in (using js) these numbers to autofill my pdf form when a user enters a certain number in a field. For example, if the user enters "9999999" into a field, four other fields automatically fill based on the number they entered. However, since the calculation script only allows a certain number of characters, I am unable to write this code (basically a if/then statement) for all 60,000 numbers. Is there a way I can keep these numbers in an excel file and have the calculation script read this file and put these numbers into an array?

Hello I want to create a PDF document that only allows the user to edit text fields if they are blank. Once the field is not blank it should not be editable (read-only). This is the code i used for that:{var f = this.getField(event.target.name);if (f.value == "")f.readonly = false;elsef.readonly = true;}I also have a button that asks for a password, and if the password is correct they can edit a field until they click out of the field.My issue is that the above code only works if the custom calculation script is set to this. If I take the same code and add a Mouse Up JavaScript Action it does not work correctly. For example if a field is blank i have to click on the field then click out and then click on it again to enter a value. Is there way to focus on the script once i click on it?The reason I want to have the script in a action rather than a custom calculation script is that i have many fields and pdfs that need to modify. So instead of going to each field individually and pasting

i have created a dropdown list. i want to copy the list several times on the same page and across multiple pages. when i copy and paste, the dropdown answer selected gets replicated across all the dropdown lists so i cannot have different answers to each question. how do i stop this happening?

I have a custom program written in C#/.NET that opens PDFs simply using System.Diagnostics.Process.Start(). For one user if they open a PDF through this custom program, they then are unable to open PDFs in Windows Explorer.If they attempt to open a PDF in Explorer it takes a minute and then they get a Fatal Error: "Acrobat failed to connect to a DDE server.".They can continue opening PDFs using the custom program, they just can't open using Windows Explorer.If they close the last of the PDFs opened up by the custom program, then they can start to open PDFs using Explorer.I've tried disabling the anti-virus program, reinstalled Adobe, looked for competing Adobe programs on the computer etc.I've also tried adjusting the code so it passes the PDF file as an argument to the Acrobat.exe.The user is on version Adobe Acrobat Pro DC 2015.006.30418 Has anyone had this issue before? We've used this software for years with no trouble.

In an MS Access Database, using VBA calling the acrobat objects, I am creating and joining a number of different PDF pages, and creating a set of book marks in the resulting document.  In the development PC I have set a reference to the 'Acrobat' library.   All works fine on development PC, however I need to run the database on other PCs which do not have Adobe Acrobat installed.  Question:  Is there a way to simply install the Acrobat library on the other PCs, or do I need to install a full version of Adobe Acrobat on each machine.    If the latter what is the minimum (cheapest) Acrobat version I need to purchase to get the Acrobat reference installed.Thanks

Hi,If I modified the javascript code for an existing, free action wizard offered by Adobe Acrobat, do I need permission from Adobe to copyright the derivative of the original action wizard?  It appears all of their free programs are copyrighted per https://www.adobe.com/legal/terms.html but it is unclear whether I can still copyright the parts I modified to create a derivative which is significantly different than Adobe's original work.I realize no one is a lawyer on this forum but if anyone can point me in the right direction, that would be really appreciated.  I have researched the internet but have not found a clear answer.Note the Action Wizard was made in Adobe Acrobat X.Thanks.S. So right now, I'm trying to create a fillable pdf form in Adobe Acrobat Pro 2017 for the character sheet of a tabletop game so it automatically calculates the various stats. The problem I'm having is that I can't get a checkbox to export the value "Off" when it's unchecked like it's supposed to. Either that or my Javascript is garbage because I don't get Javascript at all.What I want to happen is, if the checkbox is checked AND the value in textbox called "Ranks" is 1 or greater, then the text box called "Total" is equal to the sum of 3 + ranks + other boxes. Can anyone help?Every time I try and print several 2-sided copies of a multi-paged document, if it is an odd number of pages - it starts the next copy on the back of the previous copy.So if I've got a document 3 pages long, it would normally print  1&2 back to back and then 3& nothing page back to back.ALL other packages I use will do this, but not Acrobat.Acrobat seems to not want to waste paper! and instead decides to start the next copy without the break:e.g.  Acrobat will print  1&2 back to back and 3&1(of next copy) then 2&3 etc. So it's not even that I can then go back and reprint the messed up second page of everything, it completely stuffs up my printing.Is there a setting I'm just not aware of? It's seems crazy that ALL other packages know not to do this, but Acrobat thinks this is ok!It is driving me bonkers - not to say wasting lots of paper and ink.thanks

I want to give my customers the option of inputting mm/yyyy OR yyyy OR mm/dd/yyyy on the adobe pdf fillable form when I send it to them but am having trouble making this work.Does anybody know how to do this?THANKS!AW

Hi everyone, I have finished all of my other PDF based projects with great help from the community. I am now at the final task which as the name of the topic suggests, is a save as function. I have read the documents about it, I am not fully understanding. Can someone show me what the script is supposed to look like for a save as function that calls from three text fields? Also, where does the script then get placed? As for the button that needs to be made on the file, how do I attach the script to the particular button?Thank you in advance.

My team and I work a lot with comments and replies and often have to copy them on to a separate document. How we have done it in the past is copy the original comment (it does not copy any of the replies) and then manually re-enter the replies and change the properties to the name of the person that actually made the reply. I thought there has to be a better way to do this. Any help is much appreciated.
