Questions

I currently have two buttons on my form. One to clear the entire form and another to only clear certain fields. I have added a validation code to ask the user if they saved the form yet. However I have yet to find a way to skip the next action which is the built in "reset form". I have entered a similar validation on the other button but this is easily done since its purpose is to clear the entire thing. Any help would be great thanks!

We are a law firm that regularly receives thousands of emails from clients for potential use.  We are looking for a product that will allow us to do the following:1. Take outlook files (.pst files) and batch convert them to pdf (rather than clicking through them one-by-one).2. As part of that conversion, also convert any attachments embedded in the individual email files.I have been told by colleagues that Adobe Acrobat can perform this task, but unable to determine how to do so despite repeat attempts.

Hi Experts,I have problem adding new items to dropdown. Whenever I add items to dropdowns, first value is automatically set as default. I tried resetting dropdown with resetForm(["Dropdown1"]);  but it does not work because dropdown default value is first item while I want dropdown to reset to none value selected.I know there is way to add "" as first item in all of the dropdown but I do not want to use this.RegardsArvind

I'm using Access VBA to work with Acrobat documents. The only problem I'm having is that if1. VBA creates an object that refers to Acrobat, then2. the user closes Acrobat,3. VBA tries to access or open AcrobatAcrobat crashes. I haven't been able to come up with a way for VBA to test whether or not Acrobat is already open, etc., like I can do with other objects.I'm using:Dim appAcrobat As Acrobat.CAcroApp Set appAcrobat = CreateObject("AcroExch.App")It would be good if Acrobat were to stay open all the time, which I'm trying to train users to do. I.e., have my application close documents, and have users close documents (instead of closing the application).Is there a way to disable the "X" in the top right corner of the Acrobat application, so users won't close the application? Then I could tell them to use File, Exit to close the application.Thanks.

Hello, I've created a dropdown box and clicked "custom input allowed". Each input value has an export value assigned, which then appears in a separat textfield. That works, if I select the input value via dropdown. If I write in manually nothing happens. Here the same export value should appear in the textfield. And if the customer makes an input which doesn't exist, a window should open "Check your details". Can someone help me, how and especially where I can enter this script? Also I'm not sure if this should be under JavaScript or a different forum so I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to ask!Let me briefly explain what I'm doing first.I work for as a contractor and twice every year my company goes out and does preventive maintenance (PM) on a large amount of traffic camera's and message signs. What I have set up in the field is a master PDF file for each type of device we PM that I'll open with a Laptop or iPad and enter in the state's district number, the ID of the site (CAM-09-001 etc..), the date is was done, the PM cycle number, and a long list of drop down boxes that declare the working order or condition of the things we check at each site (cabinet condition, visibility due to trees/obstructions, etc..). They're all a simple "Excellent, Good, Fair, Poor" drop-down list for the conditions fields and the other fields are just a simple fillab

I am trying to batch extract the first page of multiple (a couple hundred) pdfs and then convert those individually extracted pdfs to jpeg. I've tried the Extract to folder script but according to the Action Wizard there is a syntactical error that I can't seem to figure out.  I have access to Acrobat 9 and Acrobat DC.  Please help!

What I'd like to do is create something like a thermometer. I'm not sure as to how many fields I would need. I'd like to have a field to enter a number like a temperature and what time. Then another field that would calculate how many points the temperature has gone up in 60 minutes. Something like a point per minute. But, then goes down depending on the conditions, so there should be another field for that to be calculated in. I'm kinda confused as to how to do this. Any thoughts or ideas or suggestions will be welcomed. I don't know even if it's possible. I have little knowledge as to how to or what I need to do to create something like this. If it can be done with javascript, please, let me know. While doing this I am not getting or decide the value for type_eligible_for_reference variable to decide weather to read the CAD ID and PRC unique ID while reading extra geometry data from PRC.Please guide me in reading the PRC data from extra geometry file structure section.Any help in reading the PRC data will be appreciated.Thanks in Advance.

I have two buttons that hide and show when clicked. Button2 is visible and when I click it, it hides and shows Button4. It's just to turn on then turn off. So, would it possible to use the OK button to click Button2, hide it, and show Button4? Then they can click Button4 for themselves when they are ready to. It would help streamline that process of turning the buttons on/off for the user.

I have a plugin that adds and removes custom properties to and from a PDF.  After my plugin changes the custom properties, I want it to also save the PDF but I only want the custom properties portion of the document to be updated.  The reason is that if the user has edited the PDF but not saved those changed then I don't want to force those changes to be inadvertently saved.  In otherword, I need my changes to custom properties to be separate from the user's changes to the document or pages or other components (unless of course they just do a normal save, or edit properties and save, then it doesn't matter).Is it possible to save ONLY the Custom Properites of the AVDoc from a plugin from SDK 9?I can use AVDocDoSave to save the document entirely, and silently, but I'm afraid that will confuse users because it forces them to save their current work without realizing it and they may not have wanted that to happen.Thanks

I need a little help. I am terrible with JavaScript on a good day. I have a form used to audit project compliance. I've been manually counting the number of Findings on each audit. I assume there must be a way to have Adobe complete this task for me. All of the drop downs affected by this script are named "Finding." 1-14. I need to count all instances where there is a finding, omitting the selections of "OK - No Finding" or "Select" displaying the summed value in the "Count" field. TIA!

This is a basic question but I can't find the answer. I am running a script from one pdf and want to change a field in another pdf. To refer to the main pdf, I used something likevar mainDoc=this;  How do I set a variable to refer to the other pdf?Originally, I used : var otherDoc = app.openDoc("second.pdf", mainDoc);This all worked well but it doesn't work on Reader XI, possibly because protected mode is on and I can't turn it off because it's a computer network at my workplace. I'm trying to work around it by opening the second pdf manually and having it open while I trigger the script from the main pdf. But it's not doing anything.Thanks!

Good morning!I'm trying something new and looking for a little help : )I assigned export values to some drop down selections in my form. The values are not calculating in the score field I set up. The score field has a custom script which uses a copy of the drop down fields arranged in an array. This script works on other forms with number fields validated from 0-4.What could be keeping the export values of the drop down selections from calculating? Could it be the way I'm naming the fields?When I try to change the format of the drop down fields to Number, I get a message saying, "The format does not match one or more values specified in the dropdown list. To change the format for this dropdown, first change the dropdown list values in the Options panel to match this format," although, I have assigned each dropdown selection an export value ranging from 0 to 4. Any suggestions?

Here is my situation.I have created a custom tool button which when pressed will acitvate the dialog.When the info has been entered and the dialog is closed the values saved in the dialog will be written our in a free text annotation.I can create the button.I have created the dialog.I can print out the stored values to the console so I know everything is working as it should be.Now where I am stuck is getting those values to the annotation. I have been reading all the documentation but can't make anything work.If someone could please point me in the right direction on how to access stored variables in the dialog object I would greatly appreciate.The code itself works fine. It's just the skeleton right now. I will beef it up later.  just can't figure out how to pass the values to the annotation function. I have tried putting the annotation inside the commit method but that just gave me an error saying it wasn't a function so I tried moving it outside which is where my code stands n

I have a brand new shrink wrapped DVD version of Adobe Acrobat XI pro I installed on a Windows 8.1 (64 bit) desktop machine.Adobe acrobat will not update I get (Error 1328).When I entered the serial number to register the product on Adobe.com, i get a message saying "enter valid serial number."WTF, it is a valid serial number for a product I paid for.What is the problem?

I want to extract or insert pages with a button in my pdf by using javascript. I know, it's not possible with a trigger in document scripts.So I made a js-file named "insert_page.js" and put it into Adobe's javascript folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 9.0\Acrobat\Javascripts). I am setting up a form that has a comments section. The comments section consist of multiple boxes (font size and font set) to ensure the text doesn't change so that it stays over the lines in form design. I want to take the entire text from all box fields and copy to one individual box on a separate page. I am sure this will require script of some sort, can anyone help me to do this?
