retyping and conversion using Mac

Hello

I am new to using Adobe products instead of receiving them from agencies for signature.

I have been approached to retype PDFs to Word documents from overseas.  Do you think they really asking me to convert PDFs to Word?

I have downloaded Adobe Acrobat but wanted to know if I need any other APPs to complete the process?  I have not received the docs yet but wanted to be ahead.  Any tips?

They may require you to ACTUALLY retype. The word is now, from my point of view, only used when the document is read and the keyboard used to type every letter, every word again. Check your contract, check whether OCR is acceptable.

The requirement to retype is a real and important one, in some cases, and you would be in breach of contract if you don't do it - if that's what the contract needs. This is because OCR is error prone, and they choose to employ a human because they are (presumably) more accurate than OCR. The chances are they do want you to actually retype, because if it was as simple as exporting to Word or using OCR, they would just have done it. Probably. Don't guess!

Retyping usually means the file is scanned. You can try Text Recognition on it and if the results are good then you should be able to simple copy & paste the text in it, or export it to Word. If not, you'll need to do it manually (or look for a better OCR application).
