Question

Trying to print a doc created in Word, two-sided, bookfold. When I save as PDF and print, the text is too small and doesn't fit the page. Please help!

I have created a Word document for a directory for a small church.  It is two columns (Table) per page with a book fold, left, printed on both sides, Landscape.  It looks great on the screen. The font is 11.  I save it as a PDF and it works perfectly EXCEPT it changes the font and doesn't "fit the screen" properly.  Any suggestions?

I just purchased Acrobate Pro DC hoping that it would allow me increase the font.  I probably just don't know how to do that in Acrobat.  My printer is an Epson 3540 and is working perfecting for all other formats.

How are you creating the PDF file? You should be using the Save as Adobe PDF function, not Microsoft's Save as PDF function nor should you be printing to Adobe PDF.

Normally, if you properly create the PDF file from Word using Save as Adobe PDF and you set the options for High Quality Print, there should be no font substitution whatsoever.

By “it doesn't fit the screen properly” what exactly do you mean? Different line endings?

PDF is a “final form file format” and although Acrobat can allow you to do some simple text edits, globally changing font size is not something that you would routinely do in that software.

Please provide some more information, possibly including screen shots and maybe even a link to a sample Word and PDF file set and maybe we can further assist you.

Here is a screen shot of one page of my 19-page document. This document

prints perfectly except for size, so I may just take it to a print shop and

have it enlarged. Such a great program for Landscape, two-sided,

two-column document where on one sheet, I have the first and last page of

my directory:

Looks like you tried to include a screen shot via e-mail response to the forum. That isn't supported. You need to respond via the web browser interface to include screen shots. Sorry!
