Accidently subscribed to Adobe stock that I'm totally unaware of!

I'm someone who doesn't check my credit card records often, and one day I was shocked to find out that I'm subsribed to Adobe stock to which I was totally unaware of, I had no memories of subscribing to Stock. so I read upon all the treads to find alot people has the same issue as me back many many years ago and even now, they were all subscribed to apps or mostly Adobe Stocks that they wasn't aware of or click by accidently because they were inside the Adobe apps and a free trail button for Adobe stock appears so they click on it and if they do not cancalled it on time they would be subscribed to it by Annual.

Here I'm, charged with Adobe Stock for the past 5 months with $29.99 a month for the app I don't even use, and the customer service said because I did not cancel the subscribation on free trail time they were unable to refund it.

I'm stressing over it because I feel like I should not pay for something I did not use. The Adobe Stock free trail was misleading because it did NOT tell me how much the subscribtion will costs once free trail is not being canceled. It is very misleading.

Here's what you would have seen when you agreed to the trial:

Try Adobe Stock Free for 30 Days

  • Get 10 Adobe Stock standard assets during your 30-day free trial
  • You won't be charged until after your trial ends, when pricing will be US$29.99/month plus applicable taxes for the duration of your annual plan (10 assets a month)
  • Cancel risk-free before your trial ends
  • Access any asset type - all in one subscription

The terms are clear enough, and you didn't make a note to cancel before the trial period ended, nor any time in the past 5 months. You can contact Adobe to cancel, but at this point where you're almost half a year into the annual subscription, it seems unlikely that they will allow any special accommodation for your situation.

I'm sorry, that you learned the hard way, that sometimes mistakes come at a cost. Your rant above is incorrect. It looks like you not only don't check your credit card records often, which is a neglect that may cost you much more than $30/month, but you do not check the terms and conditions of the services you subscribe. On the website, it is clearly stated, that you need to cancel before the end of the trial. Those same terms were also send to you by e-mail, when you took your test subscription.

As for your argument that you do not use the service: I have a digitial subscription of several newspapers. Do I need to pay, when I do not read the papers? I suppose so!

I have a phone subscription with free minutes, that I probably never use to it's fullest extend. Does the company charge me, when I do not use the phone? I guess so! If I ask for a refund after month, should I get one? I guess not.

I lease a car, that I don't drive. I lease a house that I don't inhabit.Do I need to pay, and can I ask a refund after several months? Probably not.

People think, they are only paying for assets they may licence. But the real cost lies in operating the service, running the computers, adding new assets to the database, and yes, paying the people who answer the help lines. So yes: there is no obligation to refund you. If Adobe decides to do that, it's purly voluntary.

I guess, you should check your credit cards more often. I do this on a daily bases and get messaged, when I get charged. I couldn't survive without strict financial monitoring. You should start doing that too, and you should start reading the terms and conditions when subscribing something. Each time, you click "I agree", you do agree. Each time you enter your credit card numbers, you should know that you are getting charged.
