Adobe stock image in a logo if modified

I have a client wanting me to modify an Adobe Stock image - changing a colour and adding glasses to a bird - they then want to use it as a logo. Can a modified image be used as a logo? I've already said no, but they've come back saying there is nothing in the terms about if an image is changed.

    Hi Catherine,

Thanks for reaching out to the Adobe Stock community.

I would like to let you know that you need to have complete ownership of the image you use for your company logo, since logos are intended to be registered and protected to prevent other companies or organizations from using the same image. Because Adobe Stock only grants a right to use images and does not transfer the ownership, these images cannot be used in or as a logo.

For more information, please refer to Common Questions, Adobe Stock

So even if the asset is modified, you may not use the same for creating logos.

Feel free to update this thread in case of any additional questions.

    Regards,

    Twarita

Thanks Twarita. That's as I've explained to my client, but they are being really pushy, at least I now have an official answer.
