Adobe Stock Transparency Grid

Hello, I licensed an Adobe Stock image (#422300805) and downloaded it as a vector image. I've tried putting into Illustrator and Photoshop, but it appears as only one layer so I cannot remove the transparency grid. I've tried looking at other posts here, but either the solution hasn't worked or isn't descriptive enough for me to understand. I am a beginner with these applications FYI! Thanks in advance!

I found a layer in Illustrator except it completely ruins the image...

Not exacly sure what you did there. You say you found the layer with the grid and switched it off? And that's when it messed up the gradient shading?

I uploaded into Illustrator and simply turned off the layer containing the transparency grid, and that's what it turned into. I've never seen anything like that happen. I'll attach a screen recording.
