Can't open downloaded .ai file on Mac

Just downloaded an .ai file from Adobe Stock but my Mac won't open it.

Says "It may be damaged or use a file format that Preview doesn’t recognize."

What can I do?

    Just downloaded Illustrator, didn't know I needed it.

    Was able to open it, thanks Brad.


    Yeah .ai files are Adobe Illustrator Files. If you don't have Illustrator and don't want to accidentally license a .ai file just make sure that Vectors is not selected in the search tool.

    Can you give us the image number so we can test it?

    And to be sure, you are using Illustrator to open it?

    What version if Illustrator are you using and what steps are you taking to open the file? It seems to work fine.
