Corrupted File?

I have hunderds of Adobe Stock images downloaded and this is the first one I have had trouble with. It is a vector file. It opens slow in AI, but it does open. If I copy and try to paste into Photoshop as a Smart Object (a common workflow for me), it locks up Photoshop and I have to force quit. If I try to open the file directly into Photoshop, same thing?

Hello @johnd59898678, sorry for the poor experience with this vector. It looks like it works for my initial tests, however it's incredibly resource heavy and not sure it meets customer expectations. I've refunded your credit and will send the details of the file to be reviewed internally. Thank you for the report and sorry for the problem with the vector.

Looks like one of the more complex assets. Your workflow is OK. I'm tagging @Contributor1 to comment on the asset, but to solve your immediate problem:

  1. Try saving the .ai file as a PDF (no editing preseved). Use that file as a Smart Object. Does that work? I suppose you want to get rid of the background to get transparent bubbles.
  2. Try exporting the asset as a .PNG file (transparent background). If you set the resolution high enough, that could work with your intended editing.
