Difficulty removing transparent background

Hi Adobe community,

 

I'm having trouble removing the transparent background of Stock images. I've tried removing the transparent layer in the .ai file, but that just shows me a bunch of unwanted layers beneath it.

 

I'm trying to do this in Illustrator - I'll link the image ID's below

I don't know if I understand your question correctly. Maybe you take a screenshot of the layers panel and describe what you want to do with the glow.

Hi Marianne thank you for responding, I'll do my best to explain with pictures 

The last picture is what I want, but without the checkered background - I just can't figure out how to remove it.
