Question

Do I need 1 or 2 extended licenses?

Hello. Do I need 1 or 2 extended licenses? I have black t-shirts in stock. I bought an Extended licensed image and printed it on the shirts. Now I wanted a product image for my online store and since there are many ready-made t-shirt images in Stock, I wanted to use one so that in Photoshop I add the image I bought earlier to the shirt image.
However, I was told that an extended license must also be obtained for the image of the black shirt if it is used in advertising.
In this case, is it necessary to acquire 1 or 2 extended licenses or is 1 x standard license for the product image of the online store and 1 extended license for the image used in the product for sale sufficient? Thanks.

Who told that?

You will need a new licence for every customer (not for every t-shirt customer!), for whom you will licence the asset. If you are the customer, you can use your licensed asset for a mugs, t-shirts, calendars, whatever you want, and you can also do your advertizing with that asset.

So no, you are fine with one single extended licence.

(Disclaimer: As always with licensing, this is my interpretation of the rules. I think they are correct and advice is based on reading and interpreting the licence terms and on fair use for both the buyer and the artist/stock company, but I cannot rule out that my interpretation is wrong. I'm not an Adobe employee).
