Question

Don't Purchase a Stock Subscription - Buy as you go

I've been an Adobe Stock subscriber for a while now and have acquired quite a large available quota of assets. Recently, I decided to cut back on my freelance work, so I contacted the help centre for advice. I discovered that any assets that aren't downloaded before the end of the billing cycle would become inactive. They cannot be transferred to another account, refunded or even reactivated in the future. So basically, assets that are paid for through a subscription but not licenced disappear once the subscription is cancelled - it just doesn't seem fair. My advice is to buy as you go if you don't want to be stuck downloading images you don't need.

This is like subscription services work. You need to licence the assets during your subscription period. You can use them later on, but you will need to use your accumulated unused plan credits before your plan expires. Indeed, your subscription also pays for the infrastructure. If you do not need the contingent you subscribed, you should have subscribed to a cheaper version of the subscription.

It's a bit like my cell phone service. I have free minutes and free data with my subscription, but I pay basically for my provider maintaining the infrastructure.

As a side note: If you buy credit packs, they expire after one year.

Thanks for your patronizing commentary Abambo; it's not helpful or informative.

It's a possible explanation why this is so, besides @Test Screen Name correct assumption.

And it's helpful: unused credits go away, licenced items stay.

That's one of the reasons it's cheaper to subscribe; people by and large won't use their entire maximum. But it's very important to realise, certainly, that all unused credits disappear if you cancel. Otherwise you could subscribe a short time at a high rate, and then cancel and keep licensing pictures at the best price.
