I need to know if there is an additional cost above the normal subscription cost if we needed an extended license for an asset. If so, how much extra is it?
I should probably be clear also if the "Cannot use asset prominently in merchandise or products for resale" listed on the different license options list means we could use an asset under the standard license as long as it is not the main focus of the design?

If I understand correctly, you want to use the Stock images in merchandise or for resale purpose, for that you would be requiring an Extended license. Also, I would like to inform that extended licenses are always purchased on demand/by using credit packs and are not included in any subscription plans. An Extended license comes for $79.99, you may also check the prize of the credit packs on Adobe Stock pricing and membership plan | Adobe Stock
With the subscription plans, you may only license standard assets.
