Finding video by file #

I found a thread that said you can search by file #, but that hasn't been my experience.

A client gave us a number of file #s for videos he needs, but putting them in the search box brings up no results, whether we type in just the number or add a # before it.

This seems like an obvious way to find stock photography and videography, so what am I missing?

Even during testing, I would grab a video file number I am looking right at, put it in the search box, and it comes up with no results. Help!!

    Hi @flyten263485,

When you search for a video make sure that you have All or Videos selected when you search. You can search for Asset IDs with a space between the asset IDs, like this:

If you have the selector set to other than All or Videos you won't see any results.

Thanks, but that's exactly what I did with no luck. Both with all and with video.

However, I did get a workaround, which I'll leave here for anyone else who has the same problem.

I opened a second browser where I WASN'T logged in, visited the home page, and searched by file number. This time it popped up.

I grabbed the URL, returned to the browser where I was logged in and pasted the URL in the browser window.

Worked like a charm! A circuitous, unnecessary-extra-step, charm.

This is strange, unless it is related to the country you are in. Some countries filter the search results.

I've moved this from the Using the Community forum (which is the forum for issues using the forums) to theStock forum so that proper help can be offered.
