I feel let down by the price and subscription model

I signed up to Adobe Stock prompted by an ad claiming a 30 day free trial. I was billed instantly, which I can live with, but now when attempting to cancel I have to pay out the year and lose the credits I haven't used‽

Can anyone explain to me how this is a reasonable strategy? I feel very ripped off.

If you get charged immediately, you had accepted the free offer before. You can't take the free offer multiple times. You can cancel during the first 14 days, free of charge. It's an annual subscription, you promised to keep the subscription for at least one year. If you cancel early, you get charged half of the remaining due to compensate Adobe for the investments done.

There should have been clear messaging if I had accepted before and wasn't getting the deal advertised to me.

Many years ago I had access to Adobe Stock by subscribing to the Adobe Suite. It was unused then and is unused now. I'm not trying to capitalise on a free offer multiple times.

There is no Adobe suite. There is only a Creative Suite and that is long EOL. And there is Creative Cloud.

I agree, that there should be a warning, when you are not eligible for the free test month. Cancelling in the first 14 days of the paid subscription gives you a full refund. After that you have an annual subscription with the corresponding early termination fee. If you haven't used the subscription, they normally cancel and refund. If you have used the subscription, I do not know, if they are inclined to cancel that easy. Unused credits get lost in all circumstances.

If you actually subscribed to the 30-day free trial promo, you would not have been billed immediately. It appears that you might have instead agreed to the full-year subscription, billed monthly. You should have received an email confirmation of that subscription. I would suggest contacting Adobe directly to make your case for an early cancellation of the annual subscription without penalty since it was accidentally enrolled Adobe customer care can be contacted by beginning a chat session at https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?rghtup=autoOpen.
