Question

Standard license images used on information cards

Hiya.

Can I use images with a standard license to make fact cards on a subject (e.g. trees/birds/animals)?

Most images will be my own but I'll need additional images for some.

One side of the card will be an image/s and the other will be information on it.

Thanks!

This is one of the cases, where I can't clearly say yes or no, standard or extended. But first let me say, it is not dependant upon a commercial or a non-commercial activity. A standard licence is enough, when your cards get printed in a number less then 500k and when the primary motivation to acquire the card is not the image (ie kind of merchandise). From what you describe, I cannot determine, in what case you are in.

Check the paragraph for extended licences thoroughly before deciding whether you should use a standard license for your work.

(Disclaimer: As always with licensing, this is my interpretation of the rules. I think they are correct and advice is based on reading and interpreting the licence terms and on fair use for both the buyer and the artist/stock company, but I cannot rule out that my interpretation is wrong. I'm not an Adobe employee).

The appropriate license depends on the end use of the fact cards. If you're selling them, you need extended license. If you are not selling them, and expect less than 500,000 views, standard license will suffice.
