Tagging AI images in the image metadata (XMP, etc.)

For some AI generated images we have found an XMP tag

 
“DigitalSource Type”
The value - trainedalgorithmicmedia = AI generated.

Once the image is downloaded from the stock site this appears to be the only indication in the file of the origin.

It is not used consistently though. Having a look through 10 AI images, it was found in 3 but not the other 7.

Is there a place in the file contents where an AI original is indicated that can be checked?  If there isn’t that would be pretty disappointing on Adobe’s part.   AI is a pretty noteworthy part of an image’s provenance and should be in the file.

      Metadata comes from various sources. It varies depending on which tools were used to create & enhance content prior to submission. 

       

      For more details on asset origin, you can use this free AI detection tool from Siteengine.  It’s the most reliable one 

      I’ve used so far for AI image, video, music & voice detection.

      Adobe Stock does not require that Contributors include an AI tag in their keywords or exif data. When you select the image from Adobe Stock it is clearly marked as AI Generated. Perhaps you should create a separate Library for AI Generated images?

      The person using an image in a shop may not be the person who downloaded it.  It may be an image picked up and repurposed in the future.  Either of these processes separate the user from the site where it was downloaded.  In a perfect world there would be full communication across the entire create and production process but we know that doesn’t happen.
      Do you not see including the provenance of an image as a responsible part of marketing it?  You would not send something out without a credit or creator. Why not include how it was created.
