When can we have a sexism filter in Adobe Stock?

If I search for "female construction worker" I have to look at pictures of half naked women riding drills, pressing power tools to their breasts and so on. If I search for almost any category of women, these kinds of "sexy" pictures turn up. Why? I don't need to look at that trying to create professional graphic design for serious clients. Can you please introduce a "sexism filter" to block these pictures out or something?

I will pass this concern to the Stock team and will get back to you once I have an update regarding the same.

I so agree with that this is a problem. I am considering having our company switch back to Shutterstock or Getty.

Hi nrsteph,

Adobe Stock team takes your concerns seriously. We appreciate your patience as we work on re-moderating known sets of keywords that produce unexpected results as described in this thread.

I'm still looking for ways to filter out images I don't want to see. Some sites you can put keywords in to exclude. Is this going to be changing in the next month?

You will wait until Adobe officially announces changes to the filters. However, filters could be more restrictive as I don't think that the young lady given here as an example would fulfil the security requirements on a construction site. The problem with the "safe" filter is, that the picture as shown passes as the picture is safe... Unfortunately the definition of "safe" changes due to cultural and gender differences.

Have you tried checking the 'Safe Search' box in your search filters?

I tried it with 'Females With Power Drill' as a search term and it worked quite well. Didn't get rid of all of them of course but really cut the number down.

Thank you, but my Safe Search was already checked. One would think all the nude ladies should disappear, but no.

Hi Maria,

I understand your concern. Generally, the keywords are matched as given by the contributor on the image and your search. But I will pass this concern to the Stock Team.

Feel free to update this thread in case of any additional query.

Twarita

Thanks for answering. I think pictures like these should be blocked when Safe search is on. It contains keywords such as Sexy and Nude. Which type of keywords activates the Safe search filter, currently? I guess it has more to do with violence, blood and that kind of content. If you don't want to block 'sexy' pictures with Safe search, I think a Sexism filter would be great. Because these pictures are kind of degrading.
