I am preparing a post for social media to commemorate the 80th anniversary of  the D-Day landings.   I am looking for a stock image to use and i am intrigued ....   Does anyone have any idea why  there might be NO images in the stock catalogue of soldiers running or walking ONTO the beach?  THere are DOZENS  of pictures of soldiers splashing in the water with their heavy packs and weapons etc.  But they're all walking INTO the sea not OUT of it.    You see hundreds of soldiers walking towards ships just off shore.    Or walking awy from the camera towards the ocean.      I would have thought the vast majority of soldiers that day were NOT walking in that direction.

Can anyone xpliain that for me please?

Cheers

@Abambo is correct that you should look elsewhere. Adobe Stock does not include editorial news photos in its collection. It never had historical images (only had current news photos), and it stopped the editorial collection a few years ago because of low demand.

@mkear the type of image you are looking for would be from a news archive. Normal contributors cannot upload such images unless they own the copyright. Any stock agency that licenses these images either made a deal with a company that owns these copyrights, or is the copyright holder.

You probably will need to look somewhere else. There are no real historic pictures of the event here on the site. If you are looking for generative AI assets, you find a wide range of such images here. But a lot of them are indeed nonsense images.

I only looked at the first page of results and all the "Landing" images seem to be AI depictions. If you're looking for authenticity, use the filter label to exclude AI.
