Adobe Express Mobile: Important updates and device requirement changes

Hello, everyone!

We are making some updates to Adobe Express. As part of this, older versions of Adobe Express, Spark Page, and Spark Video will no longer be supported, and the minimum system requirements for mobile devices are changing.

What you need to know!

  • If you're using an older version of Adobe Express, Spark Page, or Spark Video, you'll need to update to the latest version and migrate your files.
  • Rest assured, everything you've already created will move to the new platform and remain editable and intact. Migrated work can be found in Your Stuff folder.
  • If your device does not meet these requirements, you will not be able to update or use the new version of Adobe Express.

Note: Migrated Spark video projects will no longer be editable but can still be downloaded. They will also be exempted from the Adobe Express storage quota

Starting today, you may see pop-up messages about this update on your iOS or Android device.
The new app now requires at least 3GB RAM and iOS 17 or Android 10 to run.

We know change can bring questions, and we're here to help. If you have questions, please reply to this thread. If you'd like to learn more about these updates, here are some important links:

The old version was great! Why did you have to change literally everything and now you're about to lose alot of users. I have no idea how to navigate the app and editing or creating something has become a major headache, and I know there's more people that agrees with me on this. If you want to keep users happy, please revert back to the old version.

Hi

@nathalie_1213

,

Welcome to the community! Thank you so much for sharing how you feel — I’m truly sorry for the frustration this has caused. I understand how difficult it can be when familiar workflows change, and I appreciate you taking the time to let us know.

At this time, reverting back to the previous version isn’t possible, but your feedback is incredibly valuable to our team as we continue to improve the new experience. I strongly encourage you to share your thoughts and specific suggestions directly at https://adobe.ly/4jTJ4Y6

Any way to get old version of express. New is impossible to use. Will need to switch to other apps if it doesn’t get better

Thanks so much for your prompt response. Thats too bad. Especially given I noticed SO many other people feel the same way. I have already purchased Canva and Picsart for my needs. Thanks again!

Hello. I enjoy using Adobe Express, but the practicality, speed and ease of use of the old version seem to have officially ended with this new version. Can you help me find the old versions? Thanks.

Frankly, there are too many features, I can't list them directly. 1- speed, 2- practicality, 3- practicality and ease of use between menus, interfaces and templates in the mobile version and many more. As someone who uses the old version, I can't use the new version, I tried it. I hope I can find a way to use the old version. Best regards, greetings.

I truly miss the old version. There's just so many bugs on this one. One of my biggest issues is selecting multiple A jokes there's just not an easy way to select all with just a swipe whereas in the old version I could've done that and grouped and move things around together with this one is a big challenge selecting individual objects and at times you miss one the selection process is not as precise as the old version

Dear Adobe Express Team,

I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to express my deep disappointment with the recent update to Adobe Express. I have been a loyal user of the old app for six years, and I truly loved it. Unfortunately, the new app does not meet my expectations and has made my workflow quite challenging.

I find it difficult to perform even basic tasks without having the old version installed, which is frustrating. This situation is particularly disheartening as I risk losing all my work from the past six years.

I appreciate your attention to this matter and hope for improvements in the future.

Thank you for your understanding.

Best regards,
Vanessa

Hi Everyone,

I’m sorry to hear the update has made things difficult, @17388897 To help preserve your past work, please try exporting or backing up your projects from the old app before fully switching to the new one. This can prevent any loss.

If you find basic tasks harder now, feel free to share specific issues—sometimes we can offer workarounds or tips to make the new app easier.

Also, as @John T Smith mentioned, you can get more detailed help and connect with other users in the Adobe Express forum here:

We’re listening and hope to improve your experience soon!

Is anyone else having a difficult time with the new version of Adobe Express? IS there a way to change it back to the old version? Or is there an instructional video that takes you through how to find things? I can't find the simple commands that use to be available at my fingertips. Also the new version is terrible on an iPhone, now I have to use a computer browser because this new version isn't compatible with my phone anymore. Another huge strike. So frustrating!!!!

Seems like they do not care about their customers.

The new application has been forced upon users, and it is highly unsatisfactory.
It no longer functions offline, and old designs cannot be used without being converted into a format that makes no sense.
Projects now take approximately five seconds to load, whereas tasks that previously required just one click now take five.
Adobe consistently mishandles updates and changes, despite claiming for years that they listen feedback. However, they not genuinely consider or implement user feedback. For years, we have expressed dissatisfaction with this new app, and now it has been imposed on everyone.

  • I used to use the older version of adobe express on my phone, every day. It was easy for me to use as I did the same things on it every day. But now, it's been changed to a new version which I don't want!!! How can I get the old one back?

Hello @perfect_perspective8493, thank you for your message. We understand how frustrating it can be when a familiar experience changes, especially when it’s part of your daily workflow. As of May 2025, Adobe Express was updated to a new version with enhanced features and improved performance. Unfortunately, it's not possible to revert to the previous version once the app has been updated.

However, we’re here to support you as you get used to the new experience. If there are specific features or workflows you miss, we’d love to hear them—your feedback helps us improve.

Thanks again for your continued support of Adobe Express,

Chaimaa

The new Adobe Express app is a piece of crap. I have spent over a year building building a branding image on my YouTube channel and you eliminated the font… The layout is horrible. It's full All kinds of stuff that I don't use. And none of my legacy icons that I have created come in properly because the font has been eliminated.

It confusing to use, I can't find things that were easily laid out before. You have completely laid a huge turd with this one. Bring back the old app. It was much better.

Your attempts to improve have made it a piece of garbage

Why can't we just leave alone?

Ditto! I have been using the Awesome OLD app for awhile for my youtube channel. It was user friendly and very easy to use.  The NEW UPGRADED version is TOTAL GARBAGE! It's NOT user friendly by any means and the it's just AWFUL in EVERY SINGLE WAY possible. The NEW APP should be what you get if you pay for it. GIVE US THE OLD APP BACK FOR FREE USERS! I don't care if you never update the old app. Just leave it just the way it is, perfect. PLEASE BRING THE OLD APP BACK! HECK I'd pay to have the old app back. I'm going to have to find a new image creator because the NEW APP IS UNUSABLE.
