Acrobat Pro is stuck at 72% after clicking "Specify where to sign"

Acrobat Pro DC is stuck when uploading documents at 72% after clicking "Specify where to sign" in the office for all laptops. There are lots of people encountering the same issue and regarding to one of the posts - https://community.adobe.com/t5/adobe-sign-discussions/quot-specify-where-to-sign-quot-gets-to-72-then-fails/m-p/12324444#M16915) - which mentioned about licence issue. But it cannot apply to my case as I am able to use the online version (https://documentcloud.adobe.com/) as a workaround.

Is it possible that it is related to network issues? Because there are quite a lot of restriction in my company environment.

Any suggestions are highly appreciated.

Thanks.

This issue keeps reoccuring and I cannot identify any pattern in what causes it. Sometime requesting signatures works, giving a bit of hope, but eventually the problem of it getting stuck at uploading 72% returns. And it is always suck at 72%.  It fails more than it works.  I have used Ecosign and Docusign for many many years and have never experienced any issues with them. Adobe Sign is just unusuable.

Even the online version is not working. I go to request signature, drag the document, and then the window just closes. Try again, this time click the link to select a file from my local computer. Same thing. Upload the document separately using the "Upload a File" button on the "Your Documents" page. Then go back to "request signatures" page.  Select the recently uploaded document.  Same thing.  Tried in both Microsoft Edge and Firefox. I'm done with Adobe e-sign. Months of unreliability, I save more time printing, signing, and saving. Going back to Docusign.

Hello,

We have tried to upload a document to "Adobe Acrobat Sign".

We chose "Request E-Signatures" > entered 2 E-Mail recipients > selected "Specify Where to Sign", but the uploading was stuck for a long time on 72%.

We also tried to upload a different document to 1 E-Mail recipient - but it has ended the same.

What can we do to solve the problem?

Thanks.

Hi Shani,

Thank you for reaching out, and sorry about the trouble caused.

Could you please confirm if you are using the desktop application or Online account to send the document for signature?

If the issue occurs with the Acrobat Pro DC desktop application, try using the online account and check if you can send it without any problems.

Open the link and sign in using your Adobe ID.

Go to the E-sign tab and use the Request Sign nature option.

If it works online, share the Acrobat desktop application version number and the OS on the machine.

We may require logs for the issue.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Meenakshi

Acrobat Pro DC is stuck when uploading documents at 72% after clicking "Specify where to sign" in the office for all laptops. The version of adobe is the 2021.007.20095 with windows 10 Pro 1809. This only happens on my organization network. On the web it´s working fine. Can you help me? Are there any specified rules to use on our firewall? This situation started 2 weeks ago.

Hi Kwan,

Thank you for reaching out and sorry about the trouble.

As you have mentioned that you are able to send the document online without any issues, it doesn't seem to be account related issue.

Could you please confirm the Acrobat and OS version currently in use on the machine?

Also, let us know when did the issue started occuring. Did you notice this change after any recent changes?

Are you experiencing the issue only on the work machine?

Thanks,

Meenakshi

Hi Meenaksi,

Thanks for the assistance in advace.
It is Windows 10 (21H1), and Acrobat Ver. 2021.007.20095.

It happened around mid of Sep in the company, probably there were Windows updates but not really sure.

I haven't tried non-work machines, but sometimes it works when connecting to different networks, the weird thing is it still works when connecting back to the original network.

Thanks.

Did you ever find a good fix for this?

Today and yesterday I haven't been able to get Adobe Sign to get past the "Specify Where To Sign" step. Does anyone know what's going on? Is it on my end or Adobe's?

I fill in the form, I sign it myself, I click "Request Signature", everything is going smoothly, I enter the email address of the person from whom I need the signature, type in a message and click, "Specify Where To Sign."

Then . . . I get a white screen with the text, "Uploading . . . 72%" and it gets stuck there. It stays stuck there for hours -- until I cancel it.

Yes, I have restarted the application and, yes, I have restarted my computer. I'm not an idiot.

What's going on?

I am dealing with the same exact issue. Stuck uploading at 72%. I have noticed many other people with the same problem when searching for a solution.

Acrobat Pro DC stops uploading at 72% after clicking "Specify where to sign"

Window goes gray

Adobe Sign progress bar remains at the top but the only button is "Close"

Have attempted Quit/Restart, creating a new PDF, re-naming file

Had success with Adobe Sign 3 days ago.

Any ideas?

I have exactly the same issue. So far I have tried:

  1. Unisntalling and re-installing the application at least 4 times and still getting the same error with the progress bar up to 72%, I left it last night there and after 8 hours it was exactly in the same point without any response.
  2. Opening the Web version and trying to use the "Request Signatures" app and I get message: "Contact your administrator" and the only option is clicking button "OK" which takes you back to the main screen.

Anybody has gotten a resolution for this????
