adjust date field

Question

When sending a document out for signature, a lot of times I need to shrink down the size of the date field so it fits my document. When I do this, it cuts the date off.

I'm sure I'm missing something simple, but is there anyway to adjust the font size so it fits the field?

If you double-click on the date field (to launch the properties window) and go to the appearance section, you should have the option to set the font size to auto. If it already is set to auto, I'm not sure what the issue would be.
