Adobe Sign

We create forms using Indesign then secure them to allow customers to fill in and sign forms using Adobe Acrobat.

Our customers have signed up to Adobe Sign and use that to send out our forms to request signing but when they come to select the files to request e-signatures, the error message ' This document is a secured filed and cannot be e-signed.' is poplulated. The security settings for the forms don't allow changes but do allow filling in and signing forms.

You can't combine a security policy like that and using Adobe Sign. If you want to secure the file then add signature fields to it so that the user can sign it. If you want to use Adobe Sign then don't secure the file, at least not in Acrobat. Maybe it's possible to do that in Adobe Sign itself.

Just so I've understood this correctly.

If we have three separate entities involved - 1. Form creator who has created the form with fillable fields and signature field. 2. A separate company who distributes the forms created by the Form creator via Adobe Sign. 3. The individual who needs to sign.

For individual (3) to be able to sign a form created by the form creator (1), the separate company (2), can't request signatures via Adobe Sign? Or the form creator cannot put add any form security protection on their forms?
