Adobe Sign Agreement Not Appearing in Custom Object Related List

Hi Everyone,

I'm working on an Adobe Sign integration with a custom object and am facing an issue with associating Agreements to the custom object record.

What I've configured:

  • Created a custom object.
  • Added a lookup field on the Agreement object to relate it to the custom object.
  • Added the Agreements related list to the custom object's page layout.

Issue: When I create an Agreement from the custom object's related list, the Agreement is not automatically linked to the custom object record. Instead, it appears only on the recipient object's related list (Contact in my case). As a result, no Agreements are displayed in the custom object's related list.

I also tried creating a custom button and launching an Agreement Template using:

{!URLFOR('/apex/echosign_dev1__AgreementTemplateProcess', null, [masterId=MyObject.Id, templateId='templateId'])}

The Agreement is created successfully, but it still does not get associated with the custom object record.

Has anyone encountered this issue before? Is there any additional configuration required to ensure that Agreements are linked to the custom object and displayed in its related list? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

    Hi Captivating_doer9003,

Thank you for reaching out, and sorry to hear that you are experiencing an issue.

Please ensure that you have used the steps as suggested in the following help document: Create and configure a custom object. I would also recommend checking the following:

    1. Review the Acrobat Sign configuration for the custom Salesforce object.
Adobe provides configuration specifically for adding Agreements to other Salesforce objects. Please verify that the custom object has been configured according to those steps rather than relying only on the manually created lookup/related list.

    2. Review the Agreement Template configuration.
Since you're launching an Agreement Template from the custom object usingmasterId, verify that the template and its Salesforce object-related configuration are set up for your custom object. Adobe documents support for reusable Agreement Templates and one-click Send for Signature workflows from Salesforce objects.

    3. Check whether the lookup field is actually populated on the created Agreement.
After creating an Agreement, open the corresponding Salesforce Agreement record and inspect the custom-object lookup field you created. If that field remains blank, the related list itself is behaving as expected because Salesforce has no relationship through which to display the Agreement.

    4. Check permissions and package configuration.
Make sure the affected user's profile/permission set has the required access to the Acrobat Sign objects and the custom relationship field. Adobe notes that the package's custom objects have restrictive default access and recommends reviewing Salesforce record-level sharing and permission configuration where necessary.

    5. Be cautious with custom Apex/Visualforce implementations.
If the workflow depends on custom code or packaged Acrobat Sign objects, Adobe recommends referring to the Salesforce Developer Guide. Adobe also notes that Acrobat Sign for Salesforce objects can change in future releases, which can affect custom solutions built directly against those objects
